WASHINGTON — A North Carolina man and six others have been charged with conspiring to support terrorism by training and traveling overseas to participate in "violent jihad."
Daniel Boyd and half-dozen of his alleged recruits in the Raleigh, N.C. area were charged with providing material support to terrorism.
The Justice Department in Washington said Boyd, who is a U.S. citizen, trained in Afghanistan and fought there between 1989 and 1992 before returning to the United States.
Boyd and the other defendants were scheduled to appear in federal court in Raleigh.
A newly unsealed indictment charged that Boyd, also known as 'Saifullah,' encouraged others to engage in jihad.
Boyd allegedly traveled to Israel in 2007 with several of the defendants

I guess Obama hasn’t been able to shut down all the remaining/pending investigations just yet, so that’s good... for now at least.
Obama will award Boyd the Presidential Freedom Medal later this year.
Were some of the arrests in Johnston Co? (thought I read that in the other link), if so, if these guys congregated down there they’d stick out like a sore thumb. But I could see them running a convenience store and getting away with it. (if that is how they washed their dough)

These arrests today show there are people living among us, in our communities in North Carolina and around the US, that are honing their skills to carry out acts of murder and mayhem. Their ultimate goal is to wage war on freedom and democracy. The FBI and our law enforcement partners are doing all we can to stop them from thriving and successfully attacking again,” said Owen D. Harris, Special Agent in Charge of the Charlotte Division of the FBI. “We will remain vigilant, so must the public. If you see or hear something — act — call your local police department or the FBI. September 11th is not a vague memory for us, nor should it be for anyone.”

The MSM ( and I guess the FBI) tell us these weapons and the jihad was for overseas targets.
But if that’s the case why were the perps practicing with the weapons in Caswell Co.
Bottom line.. Keep your guard up, esp in malls and the like.

I’ve gotten into the habit of checking party registration for the crazies, and MSM types. Of all the MSM types in NC, I’ve only come across one Republican; a high number, but probably not most, have been registered Democrats, but you can tell who some of the Dem-voting Unaffiliateds are by seeing whether or not they voted in last year’s 2nd Primary, which was Dem-only races.
Anyway, it looks like this guy hadn’t voted any time recently.
