GOVERNOR PALIN ANNOUNCES NO SECOND TERM, NO LAME DUCK SESSION EITHER
State of Alaska Governor's Office ^ | 3 July 2009 | State of Alaska Governor's Office

GOVERNOR PALIN ANNOUNCES NO SECOND TERM NO LAME DUCK SESSION EITHER July 3, 2009, Anchorage, Alaska – Governor Sarah Palin announced today that she will not seek a second term as Governor of the State of Alaska and will relegate the power of governor to Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell in order to serve Alaska’s best interests. Lieutenant General Craig Campbell will move into Parnell’s current role.

“People who know me know that besides faith and family, nothing's more important to me than our beloved Alaska,” said Governor Palin. “Serving her people is the greatest honor I could imagine.” Standing outside her home in Wasilla, Alaska, Governor Palin reflected upon some of the administration’s accomplishments for Alaska as she approaches her final year in office. “I am determined to take the right path for Alaska even though it is not the easiest path,” said Governor Palin after the announcement. “Once I decided not to run for re-election, I also felt that to embrace the conventional ‘Lame Duck’ status in this particular climate would just be another dose of ‘politics as usual,’ something I campaigned against and will always oppose. It is my duty to always protect our great state. With that in mind, my family and I determined that it is best to make a difference this summer, and I am willing to change things, so that this administration, with its positive agenda, its accomplishments, and its successful road to an incredible future, can continue without interruption and with great administrative and legislative success. I look forward to helping others – to fight for our state and our country, and campaign for those who believe in smaller government, free enterprise, strong national security, support for our troops, and energy independence.” The transfer of power will occur following the Governor’s picnic in Fairbanks on July 26. At that point in time, Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell will be sworn in and Lieutenant General Craig Campbell will assume his role as Lieutenant Governor. Governor Palin will spend July 4th in Juneau.

"That is what leaders do! If Sarah Palin succeeds in helping other candidates win in 2010, her prospects in 2012 will be greatly enhanced."

A technique that the greatest President of the 20th century used from 1964 to 1978.

"Bingo! These idiots in the MSM should NOT be celebrating and gloating. Sarah Palin's political clout and influence has now truly begun!."

Think about it...smiling face, good looks, great speaker, direct and honest, sense of humor, and, most importantly of all, totally despised and smeared as stupid by the commie MSM.

Yep, worked for Ronald Reagan and the future of this Nation now depends on it working for Sara Palin. This IS the last chance for reinstating the former Constitution and, possibly, building the foundation for the remote possibility of restoring the Constitutional Republic.

IMHO, 2010 and 2012 are the last chance before the Declaration of Independence will have to be violently invoked once again!

She'd be a big, big hit with a national talk show -- and a key rallying point to fight being czarred and fettered; i.e., being subjected to the "Fairness Doctrine" and/or forced "diverse" and local programming, a.k.a. sub-prime radio.

It is going to take a lot of money to run against this corrupt administration and all of the stray dogs associated with it. It is also a fact that the majority of people, that are paying attention, don’t like either party very much.

If I didn’t want to represent the Republican Party and I wanted to support or build a strong third party, I certainly would want to remove my association from the GOP. People are fed up in a big way...sick of the criminality of the politicians and the constant attacks coming out of Washington against their lives, liberty and property.

Sara Palin, you are good woman, a Patriot and a true Conservative. I think you and Todd know what is at stake and I know you both know what it is going to take to save this country.

Let the barking dogs and squeaking pigs have at it. The light has changed and they don’t even see it.......

(Fox News leading the pack of rabid dogs)

I saw that also... the name “Fox” News is appropriate. They are sneaky and sly.
I hope Sarah and her people can organize a Interactive TV show that at the bottom it can show our comments and suggestions and websites to go to that can educate all the people who have been in the dark. It is now the time to shine the LIGHT. It’s all about GOOD vs. EVIL. (feel free to take out one of the O’s in GOOD.)

The moment she expresses an interest in a presidential bid, every rival, Republican and Democrat, will uncork the ready-made zinger: “If elected, would she serve the full four years, or quit sometime in the third year again?”

And level headed voters would scoff at the suggestion, laughing For what, to run as Vice President?

Oh, my dear!!! That is not a resignation speech. That is a campaign speech, and it’s a wowser.

Sarah is not a quitter. She’s a fighter.

I think she is on a mission for this country, and I pray that she succeeds. God bless her.

from Governor Palin’s video address (at 2:04)

“...And finally I polled the most important people in my life, my kids where the count was unanimous. Well in response to asking ‘ Hey do you want me to make a positive difference and fight for all our children’s future from outside the governor’s office?’ It was four yeses and one ‘Hell yeah!’ And the hell yeah sealed it. And some day I’ll talk about the details of that....”

( I think maybe Piper was the hell yeah vote given the attack on her baby brother)

Thanks for posting the full text, Covenantor.

I watched alot of it on Fox. No teleprompter. If she had prepared remarks, I couldn't tell.

To me it was just from the heart. Far superior to the mindnumbing gibberish we hear daily from the White House.

I'm sure she looked at the petty lawsuits that have kept coming since she was named VP candidate, and saw nothing but those in the next two years. I[m sure those must be distracting to her work as Governor, and are certainly causing financial distress to her family. Not being in public office will stop that silliness. She's also putting her Lt. Gov. in the position of incumbent in the next election.

And if she wishes to do so, this frees her up to work on behalf of Congressional candidates in 2010, and by doing so, position herself for a run in 2012

Oh, my dear!!! That is not a resignation speech. That is a campaign speech, and it’s a wowser.

That's the way I saw and heard it on the video. Her presentation was that of a very secure and motivated individual. There was nothing in her speech pattern, stance, demeanor that she is running away. And the point guard segment cemented that for me. She is a warrior.

Boots and saddles everyone!

Like your tag line BTW.

and the dumb sumbitch did not understand it all and tried to make it seem like Sarah was speaking gibberish.

When Reagan was president, it totally confused me how the media would totally distort what I had just heard Reagan say. It was the first step to seeing the bias of the media. Now it all stands out like a sore thumb.

They're still terrified of her.

You can watch the video here:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2285056/posts

I’m sure it will be on youtube shortly.

I love this excerpt:

“..Life is too short to compromise time and resources... it may be tempting and more comfortable to just keep your head down, plod along, and appease those who demand: “Sit down and shut up”, but that’s the worthless, easy path; that’s a quitter’s way out. And a problem in our country today is apathy. It would be apathetic to just hunker down and “go with the flow”.

Nah, only dead fish “go with the flow”.

"That's not the way to win over independents."

What are you talking about?
Are you an Independent?

I'm an Independent and I know several other Independents that back Sarah Palin!

Think before you start spouting nonsense like that!
