US Navy Physicist warns of possibly 'several decades of crushing cold temperatures and global famine'

By Retired U.S. Navy Physicist and Engineer James A. Marusek

2 Apr 09 – Excerpts: “The sun has gone very quiet as it transitions to Solar Cycle 24.

“Since the current transition now exceeds 568 spotless days, it is becoming clear that sun has undergone a state change. It is now evident that the Grand Maxima state that has persisted during most of the 20th century has come to an abrupt end.

“(The sun) might (1) revert to the old solar cycles or (2) the sun might go even quieter into a “Dalton Minimum” or a Grand Minima such as the “Maunder Minimum”. It is still a little early to predict which way it will swing. Each of these two possibilities holds a great threat to our nation.

“We are now at a crossroad. Two paths lie before us. Both are marked with a signpost that reads “Danger”! Down one path lies monstrous solar storms. Down the other path lies several decades of crushing cold temperatures and global famine.”

The “proto” sunspots were “magical thinking”. They didn’t happen. We are not yet into Cycle 24.

After some more searching, I rediscovered the name of the scientist who proposed the delayed ice-age theory — William F. Ruddiman. If you do a search on his name, and ice age, you'll find lots of articles about the subject.

Here are a some links:

http://ccrweb.aos.wisc.edu/publications/CCR_852.pdf

http://www.reasons.org/staving-ice-age

http://www.accessmylibrary.com/coms2/summary_0286-31855452_ITM

He's actually saying that humans started to have an effect on climate about 8,000 years ago — with the beginnings of agriculture. The greenhouse gases we've put into the atmosphere since then have delayed the next ice age. Ruddiman estimates it should have started as much as 2,000 years ago.

Anyhow, this does offer an alternative theory. In a “debate” with a warmist, you could even concede that humans can effect climate. Then you could add: “And it's a good thing too, otherwise half the planet would be covered in glaciers right now.” That should leave the warmist flummoxed.

There were MILLIONS of humans 5,000 years ago when they took actions to delay reglaciation of North America.

Living for tens of thousands of years in a remarkably cold, dry climate left many of my ancestors immune to cholera, bubonic plague, etc. (about a dozen diseases).

I suspect my decendants will benefit.

It would be nice to have a President educated in things involving science. Instead we have a liberally indoctrinated dunce
