Sen. John McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee, says his party has lost two elections in a row - "big-time'' - and it's time to rally anew.
On the spat that radio's Rush Limbaugh has stirred with President Barack Obama, prompting the White House and Democratic Party alike to assert that radio's "Rush'' is the new voice of the GOP, McCain had this to say on the FOX News Channel today:
"I think there's a lot of voices in our party. Rush Limbaugh is one of them,'' McCain told Neil Cavuto on FOX's Your World with Cavuto. "(RNC Chairman) Michael Steele, I respect enormously, the governors, (Tim) Pawlenty (of Minnesota) and (Bobby) Jindal (of Louisiana) and (Sarah) Palin (of Alaska, McCain's running mate in '08) and others.
"I appreciate all of them, and, for us to get into some kind of contest, when we've just lost an election, about who does what, let's all work together as a party and get our party back on track,'' McCain said. "We just lost two elections in a row, big-time. Let's get together.
"I think Mr. Limbaugh speaks for a number of Republicans,'' McCain says of the conservative commentator with an estimated radio audience of 12 million. "I think I speak a little for the Republican Party...Let's all speak for the things we value and the things we believe in."

Ron Paul?? No thanks...Granted Ron Paul had some nice ideas, but open borders?? Paul was NOT my choice..
..and that’s not counting the podcast subscribers who can’t listen at work.
Hey Juan, didn’t you say that Barry was not something we needed to worry about? YOU McCain are directly responsible for the the end of the US. Because of your ego and selfishness.
Go suck an egg, McCain.
Is he still pushing forward with his amnesty..aka..Comprehensive Immigration Reform? Because if he thinks our new Hispanic Citizens will ever vote Republican, he’s brain dead.
Ya think, Sherlock!!??
What a moron!
LOL! Juan McCain should have quit before he even entered the race. His sissy friend Charlie Crist came out for Juan in FL and sunk Mitt. Huckabee also helped McLame.
Fred, Mitt and even Rudy would have been a far better choice. Go retire to Mexico Juan Mccain.
Yes!
"I think we still need to have comprehensive immigration reform." U.S. Sen. John McCain, in an interview with The Daily Miner, Kingman, Ariz., 2009-03-01
McCain is deranged.
Let’s come up with a REAL reform: kicking the bums out.
Dear Senator McCain:
When you THREW the election in 2008, you committed an act of treason that VASTLY outweighs any good you did your country in the Hanoi Hilton. In fact, your heroism in Vietnam was of no material benefit to the country, but your treason in 2008 has harmed several hundred million people materially. Who knows how many more babies in the U.S. and around the world will be murdered because of your act of treason?
“You don’t need to be afraid to have Senator Obama in the White House. He’s a good, decent man.”
It was YOUR JOB to convince as many Americans as possible that they DID need to be afraid of Sen. Soetoro.
It was with treasonous lies like the above that you BETRAYED YOUR COUNTRY into the hands of a Communist.
So, Senator McCain: STFU and GO AWAY.
With all due respect...
Nice take.
One of his more egregious campaign kicks (among many) was McC----on camera----reading the riot act to a supporter who dared to diss Obama. Right there he lost thousands of votes---course McC was too dumb to realize it.
His bi-partisanship was THE dumbest---McC reaches across the aisle to Dems with mob instincts waiting to kneecap him----stupid McC had no clue.
Hooking up with the pukeneos was a disaster----they kept tightening McC's leash if he didn't look sincere enough pushing their "Endless War" agenda.
The 2008 political entrail readings showed the crucial so/con base stayed home. Too bad the pukeneos "forget" to tell McC that would be one outcome of the lamebrain punkneo crafted/RINO bi-partisanship thingy.
AS FREEPER TADSLOS COGENTLY POSTED: "People forget that candy-ass neo Kristol, and his neo crony, metro-sexual Brooks are the original makeover artists for McCain post-2000. They are McC's original groomers and media switch operators.....obsessed with religious cleansing of the party. Kristol at his most smirkiest---urged McCain to fire his 2008 staff, to start all over at the 11th hour, as McC's numbers tanked. Shows how how ill-conceived, advised, equipped and poorly managed McC's campaign was. But then, what else to expect from a Republican candidate made up of neopunks Kristol and Brooks."
Kristol is the media poster boy for why D.C. plutocrats are completely out of touch with the rest of the country.
Watching Kristol smirk and squirm in his Fox pundit seat on election night as McC lost was a consolation prize to this abortion of a 2008 election cycle.
=====================================
AND NOW.......The winner of the 2008 Best Election Night Performance Award in the category of:
"I Know Nothing About this Republican Disaster."
Little Bill Kristol (McC's campaign mastermind)
"Thank you very much. But I could not have done it without the help of all the
punkeos--David Frum, Michael Gerson, David Brooks, Richard Perle.....and
my Dearest Daddy."
"Sniffle---my Dearest Daddy (who was Giuliani's foreign policy advisor) said,
"The historical task and political purpose of neoconservatism is.....to convert the
Republican Party and American conservatism in general, against their
respective wills, into a new kind of conservative politics suitable to
governing a modern democracy."
"Sob."
"I especially want to thank punkneo Douglas Feith for faking documents on his
home computer so we punkneos could dupe the president, and the American taxpayers we despise."
"Without Doug we would not have been able to transfer trillions of US dollars
into the Mideast, into the pockets of war profiteers, which enabled Richard Perle
to startup an oil business in Iraq with his cut."
Kristol smirked: "Making Iraq safe for Perle's oil business with US tax dollars was truly a noble punkneo effort."
While, at the same time, working with the new president, in the hope that the nation succeeds, because, after all, Obama ran and won on “change.’”

EXCERPT
“On the $410-billion spending bill moving through Congress with about 9,000 earmarks in it, McCain said: “I think it's disgraceful that the president is going to sign it... What is it here in Washington, business as usual?”
On the earmarks that Republicans have sponsored: “It's a bipartisan disease, and we don't seem to get it...40 percent of those earmarks were Republican earmarks.
“It is a habit, and it has become corruption...This is a gateway DRUG ...this isn't just bad, this isn't just waste, this is corruption.””
