Brit just said on FOX that there are 109 pardons or commutations. We’ll have to see if Scooter is one of them.

Won’t surprise me if he isnt.

I’m very happy for Ramos, Compean and their families, but this should have been a full pardon. They may have trouble finding work with a felony conviction on their records.

Bush pardons 2 former border guards
By DEB RIECHMANN – 9 minutes ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — President George W. Bush has commuted the prison sentences of two former Border Patrol guards whose convictions for shooting a Mexican drug dealer ignited debate about illegal immigration.

Bush’s act of clemency on Monday for Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean was a victory for Democratic and Republican members of Congress and others who pleaded with the president to pardon the men or at least commute their sentences.

Ramos and Compean are each serving sentences of more than 10 years for shooting an unarmed illegal immigrant as he was fleeing an abandoned marijuana load in 2005, then trying to cover it up.

That’s what I was waiting for....Libby.

This would probably lead though, if he had been pardoned.

Uh, what amnesty? The so-called “amnesty bill” never got off the ground.

NOW GIVE THEM THEIR DAMN JOBS BACK!!!!

Uh, no. I think it's fine to let them off with time served, but their coverup of the shooting shows that they shouldn't be trusted with that job again.

Pay attention, it’s back. And don’t try to call it anything but amnesty, please.

LOL, so true...

..but today I'll take any good news I can get!

I'm just giddy about the border agents being released...

I WISH it had been a pardon...it should have been a pardon....but at least they will be with their families again.

Coverup? How? Their supervisor picked up the shell casings at the site of the shooting incident. GIVE THEM THEIR DAMN JOBS BACK! Anyone who shoots a drug smuggler in the ass is doing it right.
