CBS News said Bush commuted their sentences but didn’t pardon them. I guess the conviction stands but they get out of prison.

Should have been a pardon instead of commutation.

Oh thank God. Now maybe we can finally talk about something else on FR.

Commutation is a good solution.

Commutation = Still a convicted felon and all that entails but sentence is shortened.

Pardon - as if the conviction never happened. All rights and privileges of full citizenship are restored.

Once again, they never should have been convicted or jailed in the first place and I hardly see Bush doing anything more than compromising...he absolutely refuses AS USUAL to admit he’s been wrong. A commutation allows for keeping his buddy Sutton in the right.

“Dubya did the right thing if it is!”

If he commuted rather than pardoned, he did a half-ass job on this.

I would have preferred a pardon, but this is still good news.

If they hadn't lied about some of the events, they probably would have been pardoned. Too bad their supervisors didn't take the heat, because IMO they were the source of the original "cover up", and the agents were going along with them as they "handled" it.

God Bless these guys and their families - I hope He pours out His blessings and goodness in bucketfuls...

Thanks. Glad they are getting out. Would have been great if done before Christmas.

Crossing fingers Edwin Edwards stays in.
