No Christmas Pardons for Jailed Border Agents

Tuesday, President George W. Bush granted pardons to 19 people and commuted the sentence of one person, according to the Justice Department -- but the names of two jailed Border Patrol agents were conspicuously absent.

Thus ended any hopes of a Christmas commutation of sentence for Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean in the shooting case of Mexican drug smuggler Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila.

The president left the White House today for the Christmas holiday at the presidential retreat at Camp David.

According to a Bloomberg report, however, President Bush could issue more presidential acts of clemency. The White House “didn’t rule out the potential for additional pardons,” spokesman Tony Fratto said – without any special reference to the agents.

Reportedly, both cases continue under active review by the U.S. Pardon Attorney – after an administrative delay caused by the men appealing their sentences through the normal channels of justice.

I wish someone would seriously explain to me why drugs dealers should be pardoned but Compean & Ramos shouldn't.

Is it a matter of money or what because I would be glad to donate to the Bush library if that is all that is needed.

Refusing to pardon Ramos and Compean is just total anti-Americanism.

Maybe Boosh is taking money from the drug-dealers....seems they are the only ones who get pardons

Meth is killing our county. Arrests are daily. The new fad is “onepot cook.” It can be made in a plastic pop bottle. I am not pleased that any meth dealer is getting out because he or she knows how to b*** the right people.

My wife’s first husband was a meth head. He hadn’t worked in two years, and decided to go fishing on a afternoon in April. When his boat slip away he went after it in his waders and drowned. You have to assume he was high. So I’m raising his two kids.

As far as I’m concerned, when the so-called future history writers who will look back on the Bush Presidency and “vindicate” him for how he handled the WOT, I do hope they will also include this in their legacy writing.

That’s what they get for shooting a CIA drug courier.

There will be no forgiveness.

The single act of pardoning these two men would do more to bolster the legacy of this RINO presidency than any other.

It is unconscionable that Ramos and Compean continue to languish in prison, testimony to the insanity that are political correctness and moral relativism.

Mr. Bush, it’s time to right this wrong. Quickly.

This is a sad day for the Republican party. Bush's lack of compassion in connection with Ramos and Campeon is unforgiveable. It shows me that Bush is part of the elite who rule not according to the wishes of the people, especially if the people do not have connections or money. The Republicans are almost as corrupt and callous as the Democrats. We need a sea change in the Republican party.

This shows the inherent evil in George W Bush.

No matter what good he’s done — and he’s undoubtedly done some — he has an evil streak a foot wide going right up his back. Like a skunk.

Anyone still wondering why Bush is disliked by liberals and conservatives alike?

Duh?

Bush could have giving John “I piss on the Republican Base” McCain and Sarah Palin’s campaign a well timed boost if he had pardoned the two Border Agents and announced it to the Nation right before the election, putting the topic in the publick view.

Come to think of it, what DID Bush do for McCain and Palin’s campaign, other than go hard left and bail out the super rich by indebting the poor and middle class (steal from the poor and give to the rich).
