I heard the format was the “Times average man on the street” stating what problem they were facing and Obama explaining what he could do to help them.

It could be an effective way to connect to people. Add in an extra dose of NLP/hopenosis and I wouldn’t dismiss this.

Expect it to be a slick production with lots of sentimental, “It’s a promise we make to our children” type statements that have absolutely nothing to do with whether Obama would make a good president.

I think most people are sick of the political ad bombardment by now. Having the World Series delayed and other TV preempted by the same words repeatedly puked from that glad-handler will turn off people.

I think this won’t help and can only hurt Obama. He’ll drone on and on saying the same things the American people have heard him say over and over again during the campaign. I think people on the fence might just get sick of him. One can hope.

The longer a politician talks without a break the easier it is for people to find reasons to dislike him.

So a half-hour ad is a major risk. But it won't be him on television all the time. They'll try to mix things up.
