Tina Fey says Sarah Palin offered to have 17-year-old Bristol Palin babysit Fey's three-year-old daughter Alice on filming Saturday Night Live two weeks ago. "Gov. Palin was like, 'Oh, did Alice go home? Oh, 'cause Bristol woulda' babysat.' She offered Bristol Palin to babysit Alice," Fey told Conan O'Brien Tuesday. "And it was Bristol's birthday, too," Fey said. "I was like yeah, that's exactly what 17-year-old Bristol Palin wants to do at Saturday Night Live... babysit the toddler of the lady that gooks on her mom."

What Fey doesn’t get is that Bristol would have gladly done the favor.

I think this is yet another demonstration to how Palin is just a regular everyday mom. We do and say things like that - translation: we help each other out.
Fey needs to pull her head out of the considerable elitist arse of hollywood cause she makes a complete fool out of herself by making fun of Palin for this.
Sarah Palin is a TRUE Christian. She is nice to those who hate her. It is easy to be nice to those that like you.

Fey doesn’t do herself any favors here.
She seems to think that because she’s classless and hateful, everyone else must be just as classless and hateful. She doesn’t trust classy gestures of kindness from people she has insulted because she can’t comprehend ever making such a gesture herself without an ulterior motive. She refuses to believe that a person, particularly a conservative christian, could ever truly turn the other cheek. Besides, she knows that even if she were wrong it would make her look even worse.

If true, it was a very gracious offer, one that I'm sure Bristol would have been happy to do.
I don't think they comments by Fey were meant to be mean. In fact, I think Fey fell into the stereotype about teens watching kids, forgetting that Palin's family is pretty damn cool and loves kids.

Sorry, I have to disagree over Tina Fey. She reminds me of that girl you would never talk to in high school because she was a) homely and b) bitter about it. Tina Fey is what I like to call a Hollywood push. She is a lib so Hollywood tries to push her on us as being “beautiful and intelligent.” In reality, she is dolled up with a gallon of makeup and just not real. Hollywood can push her on me as much as they want, but she really doesn’t do it for me. Another way of looking at it is this, if Tina were conservative, do you think we would be told she is “beautiful?”
I will say this much for her, however, she has looked the best she has ever looked while imitating Sarah Palin, a truly attractive woman.
I'd like to think she meant goofs on her mom and there was a misunderstanding of the comment, but whatever. It just goes to show Sarah is a tough, classy lady to take some of the abuse she's been handed and keep fighting and smiling.

At first reading my thought was how smarmy Fey was, after researching the etymology of smarmy from smarm through shmarmy, I realized that people such as the Feys of our world have been with us hence, the skanks.

Tina, that is what is calle "grace" out here in Flyover country. It's when a fellow human being chooses just to be nice, even to somebody who isn't always nice in return. Living on the coasts, I imagine you haven't experienced it often.

I used to love SNL. You know, back when Belushi, Akroyd, Chevy Chase, etc. were the actors. THEY were funny. It has gone very, very downhill since then.
The last time I watched it with any regularity was when...when...I read the NY Times regularly. I guess that I got sick and tired of both around the same time (>10 years ago). The NYT isn’t even fit for birdcage liner, and I think that I’d rather watch a Nazi Zombie movie http://www.amazon.com/Undead-Reich-collection-Zombie-movies/lm/15YB7A0BO2WOD than subject my eyes and ears to SNL. Still, out of some misguided sense of loyalty to the concept and the old actors (not including Chevy Chase, who is a stupid liberal scumbag), I still tuned in for the initial skit a few times a year - without seeing anything that I enjoy. Even the Tina Fay stuff is getting old, quickly.
I just want to watch it once more - when they do the skit on Obama when he finds out that he LOST.
