FReepers don't get FOOLED (Vanity!)
Self

Posted on 09/28/2008 10:41:11 AM PDT by RonnieFan

Whether you are for or against the bailout, please don’t be FOOLED by the number of calls to Washington or the poll numbers on the bailout into thinking America gets it. Freepers do…most American don’t. They’re mad at Bush, Wall street or afraid for their 401K.

UNTIL they understand this whole thing is due to the Democrats FORCING the private sector to make bad loans, everything else is like trying to explain world travel to people who think the world is flat!

From this instance until a majority of Americans get it, ALL efforts should be on educating Americans on this fact. If NOT the correction will be a bad as the problem and the problem will be spun into a Republican problem with the Democratic Congress riding to the rescue.

I don’t care if someone finds a picture with Obama shaking hands with Bin Laden, our reply MUST be… WOW, but did you know the Democrats got us into this financial mess by forcing banks and mortgage companies to make bad loans!

Good post. The well-informed is definitely in the minority. People tend to put comfort above principle.

I wrote Fox News and particularly Bill O’Reilly about this. I’m so tired of hearing the media claim that “all” our politicians let us down. No-”ALL” our politicians didn’t let us down. The facts are that the Democrats initiated this legislation under the Carter administration, expanded it under the Clinton administration, and then refused time and time again to have regulatory oversight as requested by the Republicans all throughout Bush’s eight years in office. This is all thoroughly documented and easy enough trace. This mess is solely the Democrats responsibility no matter how they try to blame Bush. It is neither “fair” nor “balance” to insinuate the Republicans had any part in this.

Obama makes much of wanting “regulatory oversight” and insinuates John McCain wants to deregulate everything. This is an issue they should bring up. Why they are not is beyond me.

I’m afraid we have a majority of people in this country now too ill-educated and gullible to understand something as complex as the real roots of the current crisis. There’s an innate tendency of the simpleminded to be monarchists - to look to some single great authority to credit or blame for everything that happens in their lives. Bush is the current king - so he is blamed, and by extension his party.

I think the USA we grew up in is officially over. I think it is damaged beyond repair and doomed. I hope I’m wrong. We still have the best people in the world in our military. But like the Roman legions they will be betrayed by the corrupt and degenerate political class in the capital. A Barney Frank is exactly like the lisping sodomites in the Roman Senate that Juvenal lampooned.

“O Father of our city, whence came such wickedness among thy Latin shepherds? How did such a lust possess thy grandchildren, O Gradivus? Behold! Here you have a man of high birth and wealth being handed over in marriage to a man, and yet neither shakest thy helmet, nor smitest the earth with thy spear, nor yet protestest to thy Father? Away with thee then; begone from the broad acres of that Martial Plain which thou hast forgotten!”

And who will fight for what is right for taxpayers? Don’t look for many republicans, as their colleagues will not like it
