“I for one and looking forward with great glee at the prospects of watching several million Obamabot heads expolode at the same time when Katie Couric announces, wiping a tear away, President Elect John McCain.” ~ Phantom Lord

The heads have ALREADY started to explode. Hee hee hee.

I think the smart move for Hillary would be to just say “No” and let Big O twist in the wind. I think that she couldn’t save the election for the Democrats this time anyway and If she’s on the losing ticket I think she won’t get the nomination in ‘12.

Creepy. Stalinist, for sure. When Stalin eliminated someone who was thentofore close to him he would have Soviet technicians black out his image with Stalin in photographs for false posterity.

That it is, But it's not the Gallup poll everyone likes to cite. That poll shows a far less disparity.

All this is moot anyway; the only poll that counts will be on November 4.

This will depend on the election laws in each state—all 57 of them!

I agree, but polling like this can spread despondency and teeth-gnashing among our foe. It might also cause moves of desperation by the Obama camp that can be exploited.

OH! MY! GOD!!!

54-44??? from being down 7-8... I mean, we're talking a bounce well into double digits!

Let the McGovern comparisons roll!!! Although it is just a poll, and it could still fluctuate they have REAL repercussions. As the media waked up tomorrow and sees polls showing Obama being whacked it will run the news cycle for a few days. “Did the dems screw up picking Obama?”
“Is he another McGovern?” “Should he have picked Hillary?”

It energizes Republicans who felt we didn't have a chance, demoralizes the dems and thus helps our fund raising and hurts theirs. This is AWESOME news!!!

McCain MUST run like he is 10 points behind. He cannot “play it safe.” The only reason we are here is because he has been running a different campaign.

I want to hear more about smashing up some China in washington. What a great line! totally co-op the change mantra. If Obama says it 10 times McCain/Palin should say it 20. Bold policy proposals need to be rolling out week by week. I totally trust the new campaign leadership. BRILLIANT, F'N brilliant.

And I'm gonna give myself some credit. Credit for coming on here in the primaries and taking all the crap here for backing McCain. NOONE else would have managed this. Had the balls to pick Palin. Stayed within in striking distance long enough to keep the media hanging around and not calling the race. Someone with the record and story to run in a time the party looks like total CRAP. GOD BLESS JOHN MCCAIN!

Stand up and fight people, like he said. Donate to the RNC victory fund. Donate to the friendly 527’s. Volunteer. Make calls. Knock on doors. Stand up and fight like we're down 10 and we can win this!!!

Oh, I don’t think the Bradley effect is going to be that big. I read somewhere that it is declining with time (in other words, it was more of a factor in the 80s and 90s). We definitely shouldn’t count on it!

Hear, hear. I have been saying for a long time that we cannot count on it, because any such effect is likely to be outweighed by the very good job the Dems have done registering and inspiring their voters this year.

We have a LOT more work to do, folks. Register -- Donate -- Talk up the ticket among your friends and co-workers -- Volunteer -- and PRAY.

Let's work like we're ten points down.

I can’t believe anyone still cites to Intrade after it had Pawlenty at nearly 90% to be picked as VP.

Markets in general, and Intrade in particular, are good at trends, risk, and general opinion. Not so good, however, at mind reading. McCain's pick, swinging between Lieberman, Ridge and ultimately Palin, was totally arbitrary and capricious. A market is good at rational, but not the frothy ferment of McCain's mind.

Look for the Donks to pull a Torricelli Switch in about 10 days.
Actually, not hard. They will suddenly realize that Obama was born in Kenya . . .

I don’t think there is any way Obama is going to school McCain. If he does, McCain deserves what he gets.

This is not just a convention bounce, but also a Sarah bounce. And that won’t dissipate like convention bounces often do unless the MSM is able to damage her.

I agree.

I think many people were looking at the same old junk and were sitting on the fence because they just did not care much for McCain, but when he picked Sarah they saw the ray of light needed to make up their minds and get excited.

I believe that people are rushing to support McCain-Palin because as long as she proves in the next four years she is who we think she is then we are looking at the next President in 2013, and one that holds many more true conservative ideals than what we have endured since 1989.
