Clinton Supporters Wondering: Will She Be Nominated at the Convention?
CQ Politics ^ | August 1, 2008 | Marie Horrigan

Posted on 08/02/2008 10:13:06 PM PDT by cdchik123

Toni Alves, a Clinton advocate, said she attended a Clinton fundraiser Thursday in Palo Alto, Calif., where the senator indicated she thought her nomination would be good for party unity. Alves told CQ Politics that Clinton said she wanted her supporters to have their voices heard and her delegates to have the chance to vote for her at the convention. . .

Will Bower, co-founder of the pro-Clinton group PUMA (“Party Unity My Ass”), said the organization has 200 of the 300 delegate signatures necessary to qualify Clinton for the ballot. . .

Bower said the Daily News report was an attempt by the media to quash the petition drive. “It’s not true. She wants her name to be placed in nomination but she can’t actively ask for delegates to do it because she has suspended her campaign and that would be campaigning. But we can make sure the petition is in place for her to sign if and when she needs to or wants to at the convention,” he said. . .

Heidi Li Feldman, a Georgetown University law professor, co-founded The Denver Group to push a roll call vote on Clinton’s nomination. She says Clinton is in a tenuous political situation, caught between her desire not to undermine Obama’s candidacy or Democratic efforts to win the White House, and giving voice to her supporters and delegates.

The Democratic National Committee and Democratic leadership “has chilled her speech,” Feldman claims. She charges that the Democratic Party leadership spent the entire primary season telling Clinton to get out of the race, “so she has every reason to believe that they’ll start beating that drum again” if she makes any sort of public statement.

Not a chance. Her and her felonious husband have done ZERO campaigning for the empty suit guy.

>Not a chance.<

Don’t place that poker chip yet. We are talking about the Clintons here. Judging by the MSM’s recent sour-turn on BO, there are signs that Hitlery will at least make the DNC interesting.

She can’t. According to the rules, unless she places her name in the pot, none of her supporters can petition for her.

We are talking about the Clintons here.

I agree. If the Clintons think race riots across the country will vault them back into power, they will do it.

They always slither back under their rock after a big loss, but they have been way, way too quiet, for way, way too long.

It would take the biggest political bomb in years...maybe ever ...to make that happen. If they had such a bomb, they would have used it by now.

and giving voice to her supporters and delegates

This is BS, Hillary cares only about Hillary and using her followers to return to the Oval Office.

I've been saying she is going to try a snatch of the nomination from bambi in Denver. That is exactly what her plan has been since she suspended or is it "the willing suspension of disbelief”?

This witch will never go away.

I’m telling you all....

The Clintons have BO’s REAL birth certificate. They’ll release it to the media about 10 days before the convention.

Then, after the firestorm erupts, she’ll be the Demoncrap nominee, and will only have to dodge “real” questions/issues for only 60 days before the election.

I think that this has been her plan all along: let BO take the heat, then appear just before the election as the Demoncraps “savior” - all without having to actively campaign whilst the Pubbies are taking shots are her, her record, and her positions.

Remember that you heard it here first.

Amusing scenario, but a demonRAT can’t win with the black vote sitting out the election, or even—remember McCain goes second on picking his VP, and so could change course and pick a black running mate is HRC steals the nomination in Denver—voting GOP.

She has not released her delegates yet. Until she does she can still have her name placed in nomination. Why do you think the DNC has been trying to think of a way to change the rules to block her from being nominated?

Also, always remember that just because a super delegate has said they will vote for one candidate or another they are not bound to that, the only way you are going to know who they are going to vote for is when they actually vote. And from what I have been hearing alot of those super delegates have soured on Obama. They are beginning to fear that Obama in combination with the actions of Pelosi, Reid and Dean are going to drag the rest of the ticket down in flames. You must always remember that many of those super delegates are elected officials-senators, congresscritters, governors and such and for them power trumps ideology.

Maybe I heard the BO birth certificate angle first here. But people been saying she is going to steal this nomination for some time. That she has something big. I don't believe it. If she did she would have already used it.

No.

But a touching example of how hopelessly delusional the left has become.

If she did she would have already used it.

In warfare, timing is everything.

And that is my hypothesis.

Hitlary KNOWS that she has high negatives. She KNOWS that early polling put her behind most of the potential republican nominees. She KNOWS that her only shot was a "short" campaign; one that doesn't give time for the republicans and independent media outlets to pick her apart.

My hypothesis fits with the Klintonoid pattern of political comeback masterstrokes.

This was the subject of an article the other day in response to her saying she did not want to be nominated. Supposedly she has to give her assent to being nominated so that even many attempts to nominated will be fruitless.

We’ll see.

Maybe we should ask Vince Foster if Hillary has any options left this cycle?

The article was interesting, but the comments were probably more informative. It sounds like this could be a real “knock down drag out” convention for the dim-bulb Dems!

My advice, every body be ready with the popcorn and the tin foil hats—especially the tin foil hats! There's gonna be a lot of sh*t slung, so you're really gonna need ‘em!
