Al-Qaeda Draws New Recruits Via Internet

Al-Qaeda is using the Internet to recruit vulnerable young people to its terrorist network, according to a programme aired on Saudi Arabian TV late on Tuesday.

Umm Osama, the founder of al-Qaeda's first women-only website, al-Khansa, joined several others on the programme to discuss how they renounced jihadist ideology.

Among those who sought a response to this question was an imam from the Medina mosque, Saleh Ibn Awad al-Mudamsi, and the father of a young al-Qaeda suspect held in an Iraqi prison. Read More

US teens released from Pakistani madrassa, flying home to Atlanta

Two American teenage boys, allegedly kept against their will at a radical Islamic madrassa in Pakistan, have been released and are on their way back to the United States.

The boys' release followed an appeal by Republican Rep. Michael McCaul and Democratic Reps. Gene Green and Henry Cuellar. The Texas congressmen had called on Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf to intervene.

Noor Elahi Khan, 17, and Mahboob Elahi Khan, 16, are from the Atlanta area. Noor and Mahboob were born in the United States to Pakistani parents and lived in this country until being sent to Karachi several years ago by their father, an Atlanta taxi diver.

A family member said that the boys were sent to the Binoria Institute to learn to memorize the Koran, which the family believed would enable the entire clan to gain entry to heaven. A source told FOX News that the family wanted the boys back but were afraid to speak out because of potential religious and political repercussions.

OPINION:

They’re released — that’s great news.

The boys probably need a check up since they’ve been in that madrassa for awhile.

The caches included small-arms ammunition, explosives and a mortar round that tested positive for mustard gas.

Nasty stuff....used in WWI as well as the Iraq Iran War....

We seem to be nearing the “seventh war” (seven being a nice round number). Only seven of nine missiles were fired on 7/9 - - - 7m-(9) - - - strange using photoshop to paste in the discrepancy knowing it would be detected. Some would like to believe all our enemies are that stupid, but they are not. It was the IRGC media arm that released the photo, so it was very purposeful.

As Gates said yesterday, a lot a signaling going on out there.

There is no distinction in their minds between the U.S. and Israel. An attack on one is as the same as the other . . .

Iran: Cancerous Israel to be destroyed by radiation

In letter of condolence to Hizbullah secretary-general following Imad Mugniyah’s assassination, Revolutionary Guards commander says, ‘In the future we will bear witness to the disappearance of this cancerous bacterium, Israel, by the radiation of Hizbullah fighters’

General Mohammad Ali Jaafari, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, has sent a letter of condolence to Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah following the assassination of the organization’s senior commander Imad Mugniyah, saying he believed “the cancerous bacterium called Israel” would vanish soon, the Iranian news agency Fars reported Monday.

According to Jaafari, “I am convinced that with every day that passes Hizbullah’s power increases, and in the near future we will bear witness to the disappearance of this cancerous bacterium, Israel, by the radiation of Hizbullah’s fighters.”

In the letter comforting Nasrallah over the death of the “shahid” (martyr) Mugniyah, Jaafari wrote, “There is no doubt that the death of this loyal fighter will strengthen the determination of all the revolutionary and warrior Muslims in their battle against the Zionist regime, and particularly the determination of those fighting alongside this shahid.”

Mugniyah was considered close to the Revolutionary Guards, and particularly to the Quds Force, which was recently designated by the United States as a supporter of terror. Together they trained Hizbullah fighters in Lebanon and Iran and planned terror attacks worldwide.

Upon hearing of Mugniyah’s death, the Iranian leaders, headed by supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, sent cards and letters of condolence to Nasrallah.

Their message was clear: Mugniyah’s death would only strengthen Hizbullah, and he would be replaced by hundreds and thousands of other fighters ready to sacrifice their lives for the sake of the battle against Israel.

The commander of the Revolutionary Guards and other Iranian officials, including Vice President Perviz Daudi, took part Sunday in a memorial ceremony for Mugniyah at a Tehran mosque.

On Tuesday, the Tehran University will hold a ceremony in memory of the assassinated commander, which will be attended by Hizbullah and Islamic Jihad representatives and ambassadors from Islamic countries.

On Thursday, Nasrallah threatened to fight Israel anywhere in the world.

“Israel entered the war in July 2006,” he said. “The Zionist dubbed it the ‘sixth war’ although senior Israeli strategists called it the ‘first war.’ All of Israel, from the right to the left, agreed that it lost the war. The Winograd report did not manage to conceal this – the hundreds of failures and deficiencies, the lack of political and military leadership. Does the Winograd report not say this?”

The Hizbullah chief said his group was ready for “open war” with Israel if the Jewish state wanted it.

Thanks for the post callmejoe.
Hizbullah is connected to Iran and that is well documented, in my opinion.

Israel to complain at UNSC over statement by Iranian official

Feb. 18, 2008
JPost.com Staff , THE JERUSALEM POST

The Foreign Ministry instructed the Israeli delegation to the United Nations, Monday, to submit an official complaint to the president of the United Nations Security Council (currently Panama’s ambassador to the UN), asking him to publicly condemn Iran over the statement of the Revolutionary Guards’ commander, General Muhammad Ali Jafari, who said “I am convinced that with every passing day Hizbullah’s might is increasing and in the near future, we will witness the disappearance of this cancerous growth Israel by means of the Hizbullah fighters’ radiation [therapy].”

The complaint will protest Jafari’s statement as expressing hope for the destruction of a fellow member state in the UN, as well as a statement which is anti-Semitic and expressing the worst kind of racism.

ICE and PRPD seize $6 million worth of cocaine

DORADO, Puerto Rico - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) special agents, working jointly with Puerto Rico Police Department’s Joint Forces for Rapid Action (FURA) seized here Saturday more than 261 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of more than $6 million.

The seizure took place after a FURA patrol boat spotted what seemed to be an abandoned vessel covered with a blue tarp at a beach near Road 165 in Dorado, Puerto Rico.

The inspection of the vessel by FURA officers revealed a trail that led to the discovery of ten bags containing the stash of cocaine.

ICE agents responded to the scene and seized the contraband.

“This seizure is clear proof of the level of cooperation between ICE and the Puerto Rico Police Department Joint Forces for Rapid Action in our efforts to identify drug smugglers, how they operate and the routes they use,” said Manuel Oyola Torres, special agent in charge of ICE’s Office of Investigations in Puerto Rico. “We will simply not tolerate this flagrant disregard of our laws and will not permit unscrupulous drug traffickers to change our way of life by contaminating our youth and our communities.”

Although this seizure did not produce the arrest of those responsible for importing the contraband into the United States, the ICE investigation continues.

During fiscal years 2006 and 2007, ICE agents in Puerto Rico seized 3,699 and 3,216 kilograms of cocaine respectively. The street value of the contraband is approximately $207 million.

“Kuwaiti arrested for recruiting jihadists to fight U.S. in Afghanistan”

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “KUWAIT: Security officials disclosed that a citizen has been referred to the public prosecutor. They said the man, identified only as MA has been charged with encouraging, mobilizing and recruiting young and impressionable youths to fight US forces in Afghanistan.”

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “During his initial testimony, the suspect insisted he had been carrying out these activities out of ‘religious fervor’ as a Muslim, reported Al-Jarida. “Afghanistan is a Muslim country,” he claimed in a statement and added that he had already set up a communication network link between Afghanistan and Iran to facilitate ‘safe passage’ for all recruits. He also admitted to recruiting citizens who were engaged in jihad in Tora Bora.

Interrogations also revealed that the suspect is closely related to clergyman Mubarak Al-Bathali, who during previous interrogations, had also admitted to carrying out similar activities.”
