The House Oversight Committee scheduled its first impeachment inquiry hearing into President Joe Biden for Thursday, September 28, a committee spokesperson told Breitbart News. “The hearing will focus on constitutional and legal questions surrounding the president’s involvement in corruption and abuse of public office,” the spokesperson said. American businesses posted 10.7 million open jobs by the final day of September, according to the Labor Department’s Job Openings and Labor Turnover (JOLTS) report, up from 10.1 million in August.

Capitol Police has asked the Pentagon to provide military personnel ahead of Saturday’s pro-Trump Jan. 6 rally in Washington, D.C., the Defense Department confirmed Wednesday. Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said the department has “received a request from the Capitol Police for some assistance for this weekend’s scheduled protest.” He would not say more on the specific request, noting that it is typical Defense Department policy to let the agency asking for assistance be the ones to speak on the details.

U.S. industry expanded again in September despite the impact of Hurricane Florence. The Federal Reserve said Tuesday that industrial production, which includes output at factories, mines and utilities, rose 0.3 percent last month. It was the fourth straight increase. The Fed said that Florence reduced September output growth by less than 0.1 percentage points. Over the past year, industrial production rose 5.1 percent. The increase was slightly higher than economists had expected and offered more evidence that the U.S. economy is in good health.
