Mitt Romney. Charlie Crist. Bobby Jindal. Mike Huckabee. Weve heard these names as possible running mates for John McCain. However, theres another name that should be on this listand its ridiculous that his name hasnt been offically suggested yet.
Not so long ago, California Congressman Duncan Hunter was seen as the true conservative choice for the Republican nomination. Hunter had served the country with honor during his 27-year tenure in the House of Representatives, working tirelessly to advance conservative principles and remaining loyal to the Reagan vision.
Unfortunately, Hunter was unable to conquer his competitors for the Republican nomination. Despite gaining support from prominent conservative commentators and bloggers, Hunter was forced out of the race in January.
However, the closed door of the Presidency couldand should--lead to the open window of the Vice Presidency. If McCain wants to ensure his election in November, he must seriously consider offering the VP slot to Hunter.

Wow! If this is the first time that most of us thought of him as a potential Vice Presidential candidate than his chances from McCain are slim to none. I like Hunter ALOT and was my first choice...yes Romney was always second choice. But the question McCain is asking himself is can Hunter give him the state of California and that is a probable no. I am sure that is one of the reasons we do not hear his name out there.
Mcloon wants to obliterate the border and allow tens of millions of illegals to flood in unchecked.
Duncan Hunter is somewhat opposed to that idea I believe.
I don’t think he would put up with running beside the Mcloonatic just to be Veep.
I don’t think it’s about delivering a state, in the case of a proposed McCain/Hunter ticket.
The two wouldn’t be able to combine into a team. On several issues, but especially illegal immgration. Polar opposites.
Oh, and let’s see where DH stands on McCain’s “global warming cap and trade” garbage. The supposed signature issue of a McCain presidency.
How about closing Guantanamo?
Tagging your frontliners in the WOT with the “torture” label.
Trade?
Think about it. DH would make the best President imaginable if something happened to a President McCain.
The trouble for McCain is that DH should be where McCain is right now and be representing the Republican wing of the Republican party as its presidential nominee. And that is painfully obvious.
So, no VP slot for DH.
The two are diametrically opposed.
John McCain would never choose an anti-immigrant extremist like Hunter for his VP.
From the article...
So I ask you, is this not on point as to why this ticket wouldn't happen and wouldn't work if it did?
How different Duncan Hunter is from John McCain!!
My list w/reasons:
Fred Thompsonstrongest federalist, strong on immigration, WOT, Social Security
JC Wattstrue conservative & antidote to Obamanism
Duncan HunterStrong on immigration, WOT
Steve Kinglook him up, youll be impressed, Midwestern
Jim DeMintVERY conservative!
Haley BarbourHero of Katrina, competent, executive experience, ran RNC, good lever puller
General David PetraeusOBVIOUS
Steve ForbesEconomic knowledge w/o Mitts baggage, Flat Tax
Sheriff Joe Arpaiostrongest anti-illegal official in USA
Bobby Jindal10 years executive experience, still young, next Ronald Reagan says Rush.
anti ILLEGAL immigrant
You might want to ask the people of his district how that border fence of his caused crime to drastically fall.
That doesn’t seem extreme...more like a GOOD thing.
Lemme fix that for you:
Juan el Vengativo would never choose someone who wants to stop the ILLEGAL alien invasion and enforce the law.
Calling for the expulsion of millions of people from their homes is extremism and Republican voters rejected it as such which is why Hunter never polled above the low single digits. Hunter would drive Hispanics away from the GOP in droves and give Obama the White House.
John McCain and Duncan Hunter don’t agree on anything. The Dems would exploit that in attack ads.
McCain is the nominee DESPITE his position on illegal immigration, not because of it.
Either it will be Duncan Hunter or Micheal Steele.
I would add Micheal Steele, another good conservitive.
...Not if you get a conservitive black like a Micheal Steele. He would add weight to McCain.
I find it interesting that "Republican" voters from other districts and states far removed never seem to have a clear grasp of the ILLEGAL immigration situation. They seem to think that gaining control of our Southern border is "extremism." Their homes aren't broken into by these poor huddled masses of "immigrants" or their neighborhoods overrun with Hispanic gangs, here illegally, bent on thuggery and thievery.
Duncan Hunter did very well with the "Republican" voters in his district.
Conflicting ideology.
Fixed it for you.
You’re thread just got pulled, End Times Crusader.
