More armed people would bring more impulsive shootings
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ^ | 2/21/08 | FREDERICK J. ROKASKY

In 1979 I carried a gun. I had a permit to do so. It was a 9 mm Browning automatic with 14 rounds in a clip. The reason I had a weapon was because I handled large sums of money, and my boss suggested that it might be a good idea. I carried my 9 mm every time I went out...

Worst Letter Ever!!

After thinking about it, this story must be totally made up, like the feel good stories people with too much time on their hands make up.

A little digging would expose this woman (or gay man, or other member of a 'victim class) as a fraud.

The one good thing about packing a gun(right to carry)is the bad guys never know who is armed and who isn’t. This fact alone can keep you safer.

My Hi-power has never misfired, but I only use hardball ammo. It’s even better since putting a Hogue grip on.

Of course he’a total homo, he sold his gun back because it made him nervous. Feeling like a real man is anathema to most flaming liberal men. That’s why they eat tofu, drink Zima, drive little cute subcompacts, watch American Idol and vote for women like John Edwards and Hitlery Clinton.

Sure. Like people impulsively drive over pedestrian.

When cooking hot oil on the stove, how many people impulsively throw in on someone?

"It made me feel powerful."

Funny...that is how criminals think. This guy’s problem was not with a gun, it was with himself.

Yeah, I know when the HP was developed. It was popularized by Serpico, sorta in the same fashion of the Model 29 by Dirty Harry. Except Frank was a real cop.

I don’t believe this person ever carried.

I'm with you. I think he's lying.

Shouldn't Frederick Rokasky have himself castrated to avoid serially raping women?

I mean, if he has such serious self-control issues he should at least be consistent.

And I don't think he's ever been within 100 yards of a gun in his life.

he carried the permit in order to show he was not really a girly man democrat. REALLY, honest! Girly men don’t have gun permits! He even had a PICTURE of the gun cut out from a magazine as proof that he really owned a gun and not just a ccw permit.

More armed people probably would bring about more impulse shootings. But I very much doubt the slight increase in impulse shootings would offset the increased number of people who would be able to defend themselves against violent criminals. (Not to mention the decrease in crime due to criminals not being sure who is armed and who is not.)

“It was a 9 mm Browning automatic with 14 rounds in a clip.”

“No, it wasn’t.”

Technically it’s wrong, but you know what he meant right? I don’t understand why people make a big deal when someone gets the terminology wrong.

“LOL...my BS meter went off as soon as this liar said he sold his gun back to the same gun shop he bought it from a year later for the same amount he bought it for. Riiiiiiiight. There isn’t a gun shop in this country that wouldn’t discount the buy back price by 30% minimum as soon as you sign the 4473.”

Agree. This is why I think the letter is bogus. You must shoot at least a couple hundred rounds through a new gun just to break it in so that it is reliable. Let me give an example to those who don’t own a gun. Can you imagine driving a new car 10,000 miles to where it is finally broken in and then take it back to the dealer and ask to get all your money back just because you don’t want it anymore? Ha! Same thing with a handgun. And even if the gun was bought used, there is no way the dealer will ever buy it back at the price it was sold. How would the dealer know if it had been shot 10 times or 10,000 times over the course of a year? A gun dealer can’t stay in business buying back guns at their original sales price.

People make a big deal about stuff like this because, in all likelihood, this person has never owned or carried a weapon. In other words....he’s a liar.

Lefties pull this crap every day in newspapers all over the country. They try to get their agenda ahead by making crap like this up. However, their utter stupidity usually points them out to us.

More armed people would bring more impulsive shootings

More armed people would bring fewer planned shootings.

"Guns are "impulsive" and deadly. That is the problem with modern firearms. People, usually under stress, don't have the time to think what they are doing."

Written by an idiot, that worships and promotes stupid. Obviously, there's point to brake pedals, because folks could never be able to handle more than the one impulsive pedal. Hence the need for air bags.
