PBS Airs False Facts in its "Inherit the Wind" Version of the Kitzmiller Trial (Updated)

UPDATE: A tenth PBS blunder is addressed, where PBS makes the false insinuation that intelligent design is no more scientific than astrology. Scroll down to read more.

More than 50 years ago two playwrights penned a fictionalized account of the 1920s Scopes Trial called "Inherit the Wind" that is now universally regarded by historians as inaccurate propaganda. Last night PBS aired its "Judgment Day: Intelligent Design" documentary, which similarly promotes propaganda about the 2005 Kitzmiller trial and intelligent design (ID). Most of the misinformation in "Judgment Day" was corrected by ID proponents long ago. To help readers sift the fact from the fiction, here are links to articles rebutting some of PBS's most blatant misrepresentations:

Was ID shown to be a scientific endeavour during the Dover trial? Absolutely! Did the bias of the judge and adversaries ignore the evidence presented? Absolutely! Now, we're seeing propoganda sites like PBS's Nova show blatantly misrepresenting Intelligent Design in an effort to mislead viewers and further the lie that intelligent design isn't a legitimate scientific process.

The fact that Nova and others have to resort to outright lies and misrepresentations in order to make their convoluted case should be a warning sign to anyone that their case is disingenious, yet sadly, many people will glom onto misleading shows like Nova as though it were the gospel truth despite the fact that their outright lies have been soundly refuted and exposed for the deceit that it is.

Does anyone remember when PBS truly was for the PUBLIC and not yet another liberal media outlet?

everything that doesnt support the DESIRED, DEMANDED, paradigm, is declared to be

1. creationism in disguise.

2. not real science

3. repeat 1 and 2 louder and louder.

I want those who say that “evolution without a creator does not deny the existence of God” to explain the evolutionary process that created God as well.

If, according to Behe, you're also considering astrology "science".

Parents need to take it on their own to supplement their children's education by teaching Intelligent Design at home.

That and make sure their children are not watching homosexual channels like PBS.

My eyes have been opened to a startling reality I never saw before. PBS wants to get it on with Spike TV. :-o

A good rule of thumb is when you hear the word “Public”, think “Public Toilet” and “Wide Stance” and you will do well for yourself and family.

What homosexual channels should they be watching?

Many opponents of ID make it remarkably easy to tell if they’re liars — as soon as they equate it to anti-evolution/creationism, you know they’re dishonest.

Some day man will have invented a computer so powerful that it will be able to “observe” the various consumer electronic devices and kitchen appliances scattered throughout the home and “conclude” that the DVD player evolved from the VHS player, or at least they had a common ancestor, perhaps the reel-to-reel tape player. This sophisticated PC will “scientifically determine” that the microwave oven descended from the toaster oven, etc., etc.

It's hard not to make that connection unless you're willing to identify the intelligent designer.

If they’re like normal males, they should watch LifeStyle and Oxygen. Wink-wink, nudge-nudge.

We got news for ya:

ID is NOT, in any way, a science, or scientific.

It has no way to test its “theory”, does not explain how things got the way they are, and offers ZERO evidence to back up its assertions.

IS IS simply creationism by another name.

Admit this truth and move on.

what a load of crap Ahayes- Astrology had NO bearing on the scientific evidence presented and you know it- Making such a statement as you did is yet another biased blatant lie meant to mislead others- When the accusation that ID wasn’t falsifiable was put forth, Behe gave several examples- several SCIETIFIC examples of how it IS falsifiable, Yet the judge COMPLETELY IGNORED the FACTS and ruled against ID being science!

If you have something intellecutally honest to bring to the discussion then do so- otherwise, leave the misrepresentations out of this discussion!

Well, it was the ID expert, Dr. Behe that admitted under oath that under the definition of science that would accept ID, such a definition would also include astrology as science. ID spoke for itelf on that matter.
