California Fire Battalion Chief - Whoever Did This Knew What They Were Doing

October 22, 2007

Fire officials are now stating that the Orange County Santiago fire was purposely set and there is speculation that other fires may have also been deliberate. See Interactive Map

Fire officials found three separate “points of origin,” all near the intersection of Silverado Canyon Road and Santiago Canyon Road. Two were on one side of the road, and the third was on the other. “Whoever did this knew what they were doing,” said Kris Concepcion, a fire authority battalion chief. Also, the fire traveled 3 miles in its first 20 minutes when it was ignited about 6 p.m. Sunday, he said.

We are NOT implying that the California fires are an act of terrorism however; the threat of pyro-terrorist attacks pose a significant risk to the U.S. and the fires in California and in Greece earlier this year should be a wake-up call.

In 2003 an FBI memo alerted law enforcement agencies that an al-Qaeda terrorist being held in detention had talked of masterminding a plot to set a series of devastating forest fires around the western United States.

It was reported that the detainee, who was not identified, said the plan involved three or four people setting wildfires using timed devices in Colorado, Montana, Utah and Wyoming that would detonate in forests and grasslands after the operatives had left the country.

“The detainee believed that significant damage to the U.S. economy would result and once it was realized that the fires were terrorist acts, U.S. citizens would put pressure on the U.S. government to change its policies,” the memo said.

How Can So Many Fires Be By Natural Causes ?

A Local News Radio talk show host in San Diego asked, “how can so many fires, in so many places, in such a short period of time, all be caused by natural causes”.

al-Qaeda Detainee Spoke of Fire Plot

As we have stated before. If you see anything suspicious, report it to law enforcement immediately.

UPDATE: Video - Officials say arson now suspected in Orange County Fire

UPDATE: From Los Angeles Fox News

“I’m sad to report this is an arson fire,” OCFA Chief Chip Prather announced at an early morning briefing. “There were three separate starts: two on one side of the road and one on the other, and obviously we are actively investigating that.”

Links - A number of blogs and websites have sprung up to report on the fires. We will provide links to a couple we’ve found.

This story can’t be correct because the Hollyweird libs are claiming the fires are caused by global warming.

Indeed, the ignorati/gliterati and their butt pustules in the media are spreading this meme as we speak. It is like a new form of porn for them, each claim more obscene than the last, the next claim feeding on the insanity of the one it followed.

I honestly await envirofascist claims that earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and meteors are exacerbated by gorebull whoring - pretty much everything else apparently already is, from cold winters, warm summers, diseases, forest fires, tsunamis, hurricanes, too much rain, not enough rain, record snow, green Christmas, crime, poverty, terrorism, hunger, deforestation, species extinction, 3 polar bears drowning, overfishing, Wal*Mart, halitosis, bad knees, bad back, Gore losing in 2000, terrorists wearing panties on head, and Darfur.

It is precisely analogous to the way in which primitive groups blamed themselves for environmental calamity; the people have angered the various gods, with the only chance of redemption being some form of sacrifice, or some act(s) of contrition or self-imposed suffering. The teleological breech left void by the rejection of Judeo-Christian morals will again be filled, and the supplanting substance for secular leftists appears to be deep ecology.

This is very sad and disheartening. I can't wait for them to find one person that set one of these fires.

I am curious if the whole of the border line was set a flame how much of a reduction there would be in the crossings for one day. Also it would eliminate areas in which to hide (i.e. trees, bushes etc). I know a weird line of thinking considering the sad content this thread started with, but it made me think the other day how useful it would be if we did controlled burning along the very long border line at least in high crossing areas. Just grasping at straws. lol.

Yes this is an crude example of how any thread can be brought back to illegal immigration. [embarrassed--lol.] God bless all the people threatened by these fires and all those that have lost their homes or belongings. May it al be over soon.

Getting insurance for a totally destroyed house would solve a lot of people’s problems right now (from individual homeowners to real estate developers), and having their loss be part of a large scale fire like this minimizes the chance that the circumstances of their particular home loss will be closely scrutinized by an insurer looking for evidence of arson.

Unfortunately, the bank holding the mortgage would almost certainly be the loss payee on the insurance policy, so all the poor schnook would get would be personal property to the extent of the insurance on that ... which except for a few companies that issue replacement coverage (like USAA for us veterans) is not even close to what they'd lose. Even replacement coverage only covers things to a limit, and most people don't have the personal articles floaters to cover their serious valuables (art, jewelry, silver, computers, musical instruments, etc.). It would be a VERY DUMB DARWIN CANDIDATE who set a wildfire to get out of a bad mortgage - bankruptcy would be less painful!

I hope some competent US agency is monitoring the HUGE mosque in Culver City.

It’s the one that lost an imam after 9-11 when he took a trip to Saudia
Arabia...and was refused entry into the USA when he flew back to Los Angeles.

The mental image of a Wahhabist fuming and threatening the infidels
in a holding pen at LAX waiting for the next plane back to his Sandbox Nation...
...PRICELESS!

I didn’t mean just here on FR, I didn’t hear anything else in the media after the arrests. The whole thing was kinda dropped. Still would be interesting to hear the complete story. Thanks though for giving some clarification as to what the motive was.

Especially interesting to ponder since San Diego County is pretty Republican.

They are NOT Santa Ana winds. They ARE Santana winds, meaning Devil winds.

“In the initial stages of World War II, the Japanese sent high altitude
balloons with incendiary devices aboard to land in California and ignite
forest fires. However, nothing came of it, as the balloons did not reach
the coast for the most part.”

For the vast part of the Japanese effort...correct.

But they did manage to kill six of a church-picnic (IIRC) party.

That would be better.

“At a billion dollars, this is the same cost as the WTC.”

Can’t be. I just read that it will cost 2 billion just to renovate the UN at around 40 floors. So the WTC, at about 120 floors must be a kazillion dollars. A billion is chicken feed. I am sure George Soros will be happy to help out his leftist friends rebuild. I saw GW say the gubrment would pay up. Why should GW promise my money to help pay for millionaires to rebuild? Don’t they have fire insurance? What the hell is the point in paying insurance premiums if Uncle Sugar will pick up the tag.

Wait a minute....... I can stop paying for health care. I can stop paying for homeowners insurance. I will be able to stop paying car insurance once we all drive mopeds. Soon I won’t need a gun because the government will disarm all the criminals. I can live safe and free from all worries once the government controls everything. Why, it sounds like paradise..............or Utopia.

The Japanese Fu-Go balloons.

I saw a watched on the History Channel that showed that we used a bomb made of bats with delayed incendiary devices on Japan (a bat bomb as it were) Its was quite effective and burned down an entire village.

I have no doubts that there is serious potential for Terrorist related fires, particularly with the Santa Anna winds.

sounds logical to me~ " use what ever methods one can to camoflage your infiltration. Destroy resources, discourage the general morale of the population, then come in for the big attack"~sarc~
