In retrospect, I suppose we should have talked with Hitler instead of fighting.

history shows militant movements are best neutralized by negotiation, not warYeah, worked great with Hitler. Tojo too. (Maybe they weren't "militant" enough). Frickin' morons.

We’re already talking to al Qaeda. And the libs don’t like it because it’s unpleasant for the jihadis. In their mind, it’s not just a matter of talking to them. It’s a matter of giving respect to them.

I say yes, talk to Al Qaeda, put them under military trial, and execute them all for committing horrible war crimes.
Or are they visualizing world appeasement again?

But proponents say al Qaeda has established itself as a de facto power, whether the West likes it or not, and history shows militant movements are best neutralized by negotiation, not war. Wrong...the Mongols dealt very successfully with the Order of Assassins by killing them in very creative ways.

Jan Egeland, a Norwegian who helped broker secret talks between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organisation in the 1990sAh yes, the famous "Oslo Accords." They worked almost as well as Munich did.

I propose that the Democratic Congressional leadership take the reigns and begin negotiations with the terrorists. The Dems can begin by offering to submit ... Oh wait ... they have already started. Scratch That.

There are some rational players in al Qaeda
That immediately disqualifies anyone from talking intelligently on the subject. There really are some that seek our downfall and Dhimmi-tude.

maybe it is time to consider talking to al Qaeda Yes, it is long past time to begin talking to al Qaeda. Start with you have 36 hours to hand over bin Laden. If you refuse we will kill every man woman and child in North Diarrhea-stan. If you are to orchestrate another attack in the Western owrld you can kiss goodbye to Mecca, Medina, Qom and any other place that you savages consider holy. If you continue to persist then we will begin to bomb islam from the face of the earth.

There is nothing wrong with “talking” to al Qaeda - if by talking they mean interrogating, intimidating, or insulting. :)

Just exactly how does one negotiate with them? They want to kill everyone in the world who is not a Muslim fanatic. Should we compromise and let them kill half the people in world?

“I’m willing to speak to the devil to help the victims in the depths of hell.”
I am not going to comment on the theological aspects of the above statement, but for us to speak with the devil is exactly what he wants us to do. How can anyone negotiate with a liar when any contract with him is null and void from the very start?

I find it curious the same people calling for ‘negotiations’ with al Qaeda are the exact same people that had no desire to ‘negotiate’ with Operation Rescue in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s.
Back then, these ‘same people’ said they couldn’t negotiate with ‘religious fanatics’.
Yep, very curious.....
