Prayer Request for Ladyinred [Sad update in post #972]

Ladyinred has been diagnosed with lung cancer and it is bad. It has been there for some time with no symptoms. She has taken a couple of Chemo treatments but they will not be able to cure this. They hope to stop the growth for as long as possible.

Please also remember Chadsworth in your prayers, as he is taking this very hard.

In a note to me, ladyinred said ..... "I would appreciate your prayers of course, as that is all that can really help me."

As Chadsworth told me, the only thing that will make a difference is a miracle through the power of prayer.

I know this type of thing would have to be checked with doctors.

I had done the search to find good diet info for cancer patients, because I remembered seeing a thread here (a long time ago - over a year or two)where they were discussing a drink, using fruits, veggies, etc., that was made with a juicer. One of the posters said it was helping a family member with energy, etc. I think there was another site mentioned - maybe a clinic - women doctors.

Wish I could remember more about it. I’ll try looking online with a few keywords.

Her times are certainly in His hands. I told Him that when I had my heart attack and subsequent bypass. He sure gave me the peace that passes ALL earthly understanding. I think of her often and pray for her. Love to both of you.

A reminder Lady in Red has a “CT/MR scan on the 25th.” as mentioned by her Hubby Chadsworth in post 577...That’s today.

I know many may do things behind the scenes... and or are on other’s ping lists re: this but I just can’t help but remind any on my personal ping list (minus Lady in Red & Chadsworth so they can be surprised by any of the ping responses this garners.)

Thanks for the beautiful bouquet! I look at this thread when I can, and am so thankful to you all for your prayers and love. I am having a rather hard time right now due to a shot Blue Cross withheld, which then caused my red and white cells both to tumble. Before that, I was doing fairly well considering.

Love to all of you, and please know how much this thread means to me.

Connie got her chemo three weeks ago (day one of the cycle) and then again 7 days later ( day 8). Her hemoglobin was marginal on day one so she did not get a hemoglobin booster (Aranesp) but could wait until day 8 after the next infusion. After the infusion on day 8, we were told Blue Cross would not authorize a shot for her hemoglobin. That took the wind out of our sails and nearly sank her boat. We offered to pay for it thinking it would be around 350 or so. “HELLO” Try $2,400. Well obviously we could not do that so we had to tuck our tail and go home to lick our wounds. I was pretty upset as was she, knowing that the hemoglobin would continue to go down. She was already marginal on day 1 and now after two more infusions, she was heading toward the transfusion mark. Normal is 13, transfusion occurs at about 9

I have written two letters and made 4 phone calls to Blue Cross about this, we finally got a shot of Aranesp in her but she was so far down ( 10.2) and feeling really bad after day 1 and even worse a few days after day 8. On day 12 we got her the shot but by that time, don’t know how low her hemo count was but I know she was really sick, weak, short of breath, nauseas with some vomiting etc. And coughing until she throws up whatever is in her stomach.

We were scheduled for a PET/CT today but she felt so bad and could not stop coughing long enough to acquire data for the scan so we had to postpone it. The next attempt will be next Tuesday for the PET/CT scan. This will determine the growth factor, shrink, stable or growing. If it shows shrinking she will get some time off, if it show no growth she will have two more chemo cycles and stop for a while and if it shows more growth, a reevaluation of her program will need to be done. This is a BIGGIE for her, she has really been worried about what the report will be. ME TOO.

I do not feel very confident at this point of being able to completely arrest the tumor growth. Her coughing seems to be getting worse, especially after the long time getting the Aranesp shot for her blood. She just does not show much if any improvement 5 days after the shot. She previously had been and felt almost normal after only a day or two later.

This message is to let PMM know that I'm flagrantly stealing PMM's red-lined bunny basket image.

It is my feeling that the only courteous Christian thing to do before stealing from another Christian, is to let the other Christian have a head sup that they're going to be robbed. This is most certainly true when one Christian is robbing the other of a very nice and quite certainly cozy embroidered bunny-basket lining image.

Recently I'd walked past several restuarants in the company of a group of frinds and in each case the nemu was posted on the door. Clearly visible, they wanted the prospective guest to know what was being served. I did not realize it at the time that what was being advetized on the outside (posted upon the door), was that which one would receive upon entry.

Recently I began to think about how similiar this is to Jesus' promise. By looking at the Door we see in Him all the blessings available to us. But we see too the cost of those blessings. The Lord Jesus shows us His pierced hands, feet, and thrashed scalp. We understand through His Word that he possesses these wounds for ever.

But even moreso, we understand that the Lord Jesus shows us that although His blessings to us are free, they cost Him His very life blood. "I am the door, by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved."

I'm sorry, but I just had to share that sentiment. LadyinRed, I pray that your ears are open to ministry of the Holy Ghost. Please forgive me for robbing your associate of the image of what appears to be a very very very nicely embroidered rabbit-basket liner.
