Since "Free Republic is an online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America.", I and others think it's a good idea to centralize what the goes on in the Senate (or House).
So if you see something happening on the Senate/House floor and you don't want to start a new thread to ask if anyone else just heard what you heard, you can leave a short note on who said what and about what and we will try and find it the next day in THE RECORD. Or if you see a thread that pertains to the Senate, House, or pretty much any GOV'T agency please link your thread here.
If you have any suggestions for this thread please feel free to let us know.
Here's a few helpful links.
C-SPAN what a great thing. Where you can watch or listen live to most Government happenings.
C-SPAN 1 carries the HOUSE.
C-SPAN 2 carries the SENATE.
C-SPAN 3 (most places web only) carries a variety of committee meetings live or other past programming.
OR FEDNET has online feed also.
A great thing about our Government is they make it really easy for the public to research what the Politicians are doing and saying (on the floor anyway).
THOMAS where you can see a RECORD of what Congress is doing each day. You can also search/read a verbatim text of what each Congressmen/women or Senator has said on the floor or submitted 'for the record.' [This is where the real juicy stuff can be found.]

I am watching the Senate...and Harry Reid and Bill Nelson are up whining about how Prs. Bush has called them NAMES!!
According to Reid, Pres. Bush has smeared him because of what he said the other day...however, I has just heard Mike Emmanuel with the POTUS, and HE said that Pres. Bush never mentioned the Dems OR Harry Reid by name.
Of course the DEMS go out on the floor and put on this play in one act of how Pres. Bush is a “divider and not a uniter”...
Where the hell are the GOP Senators blasting Harry Reid for what he said yesterday???
If we hear nothing from them today...we HAVE to blast ALL of the GOP Senators for going out of their way to blast GONZO in front of the world..
BUT, saying, doing nothing to Harry Reid.
I am furious...can you tell??
I fully understand that. I am sure I am at least as angry and upset and I think we are justified.
PLEASE drop Brit a quick e-mail about the coverage...from the president to ANS.

Senator Nelson just pretty much threatened the Bush Admin that Florida better NOT get hit with the hurricanes that are being predicted for this year!!

Harry Reid is a COWARD and a CRYBABY
Does that mean that Mitch McConnell is the only Senator to speak aout against Reid? I can’t believe this.
So far what ha been publicized he’s the only Senator.
I’m outraged at the lack of Republican fortitude against these scheming, lying Dems.
I looks like Mitch McConnell is the only Senator to even acknowledge what that traitor Reid said..
HOWEVER, he just did it on his website..NOT in the Senate, or in a press conference on TV.
IMHO..that isn’t good enough.
After sitting through 4-5 hours of the GOP Senators being very hard and even nasty to Alberto Gonzalez yesterday, (which he sort of deserved)...to saying NOTHING about Reid...I am fed UP.

I was so mad I didn’t listen.
BUT, last night on Entertainment tonight...they were saying that the magazine that has pics of Larry and the baby paid Larry 2 million for exclusive rights.
I don’t have any problem with that.
But, I have to say I did NOT listen to what was said on Fox today...I was too mad. LOL
I am NOT against news about Larry and the baby...I am against cutting away from a LIVE speech by Pres. Bush to show it.
