We missed meeting by about half-an-hour :-( I was one of the "chase cars" up until about 2:30. Craig is one determined individual, as were all of the folks who walked with him: among them were his sister, Christine DeSarno (who endured from Belmar to the Freehold Mall area then rode in the family chase car); a civilian amputee, Jack Tiernan; two young Marines turned civilian--Richard Hicks now studying to be a teacher and Mike Foran; a young friend Cody Smith who was still walking with Craig when I left at 2:30. There were 2 or 3 others who joined the walk for at least part of the time but there was no opportunity to interview them. While I was with them, Craig stopped, briefly, only 3 times--twice to tend to his blisters and once for an interview by NJ News 12. In fact, the TV cameraman had gotten on his belly to take a shot and Craig stepped right over him!
Kudos to Sgt. Breiner and those who walked with him!!! Kudos to his mother for raising a family "that does what's right when they know it's right to do."
Sgt. Breiner made it to the State House!
YIPEEE!!!! Thanks for posting this!
I am happy to hear it, and I hope he got some serious coverage of his efforts...especially coverage that didn't include 'balanced' left wing nonsense to counter it!
I just heard from Doctor Raoul that when they were a few miles out from the State House some guy in a car passing by yelled, "Kill Bush" and spat at the group walking with Sgt. Breiner. Unclear in the message relay, but it appears that Breiner's sister may have caught some of the "spray" from the spitting-idiot-Moonbat. The walkers were not able to get the tag number on the vehicle before it sped off.
Been at work till 11PM. So haven't been able to follow progress.
Well hells bells Race. If he doesn't get a lot of dirty rotten filthy lies drawn up by the leftist usefull idiots, we should start to worry something is badly out of skew.
Cool. No, cold. Congrats Sgt.
Marines don't fail their missions. A big Semper Fi to this sargent.
Amen.
I can't get to the NJ News12 site and article without a subscription, but this valiant on-target blistered Marine's story is the top headline for New Jersey!
"Iraq war vet takes his message to the street and state capital in Trenton."
BTTT Awesome pictures
Excellent updates and reporting. Very inspiring. Probably the worst day weatherwise for this--wind-chill was minus 4 in NYC. Congratulations to all.
Thanks for the link to the photos of Sgt. Breiner!! I know at one point, past Manalapan, a photographer got down on the ground to shoot photos; since he was in the sergeant's direct path, the sergent stepped over him :-) I think that may be the first photo shown in the sequence. I am so very proud of this young man and all those accompanied him, supported him--and prayed for him!
Betteboop has some photos too. Working on getting them to a Freeper who can host them.
I just called Craig Breiner to find out how he was feeling today and congratulate him on his achievement. He said his feet were a little sore, but he's glad he did it, and plans to do it again, next time in better weather, we hope!!!
Perhaps as a fundraiser for Vets or some such group!!
Kudos to him.....he's a good guy!!
