I received a FRmail tonight from Freeper kayak regarding a health issue that her doctors have discovered. Some of you, apparently, are already aware of this. I DO have her permission to put this thread up. She will not be on here to respond as she's still working and will be starting treatments.
Anyway, from kayak....Several weeks ago as part of my routine annual physical I had a chest x-ray. When it came back showing some suspicious shadows, the doc ordered a CT scan which also showed the shadows. So last week I had a bronchoscopy and got the results on Monday.
I have lung cancer. The good news is that of the 2 kinds I have the least aggressive kind and it can usually be removed surgically. The bad news is that because of the location of the cancer it can't be gotten to surgically without doing damage to parts I need.
So I'm facing a regimen of chemo and radiation probably. Monday I have an appointment with an oncologist to begin planning how we're going to attack this thing.
Please PLEASE pray for kayak!!!
Dear Lord God, our hearts are heavy tonight with this news from kayak. She is a dear lady who loves you with all of her heart. Thank you for giving her so VERY many prayer warriors, thank you for giving her a WONDERFUL husband who has been nothing but 100% supportive of her.
Lord, I pray for a "Logan Miracle". Lord, please heal her body. Please guide the medical personnel who will be helping her through this. Please give her YOUR peace. Peace that passes all understanding.

I know this sounds odd, but my prayer is that His Presence would so overwhelm you that this trial is seen as a blessing. I am a cancer survivor who had that exact experience.

May God guide the hand of her surgeon. You two have a very heavy fight ahead, but you are up to it and we will be standing right beside you helping you to fight this horrid cancer demon.

We feel the prayers and are feeling positive about this surgery even though it is scary to be facing brain surgery, which does carry some risk. We feel very good about my surgeon. We are being told this surgery is a piece of cake for him.
If all goes well I may be home Sunday evening and more certainly on Christmas Day.
Thank you all for your prayers; we are surely feeling them!

I am so glad that you are able to read this thread...because I feel the love the freepers here have for you...and we all are praying as hard as we can.
Prayers up for the surgeons as they work tomorrow to help rid you of some of that awful disease...and prayers up for your family, may He comfort them as they wait for you tomorrow.
I will wait and give you the Merry Christmas until Sunday night or Monday...when you are snug in your bed at home.

Mr. K, I am SO sorry that I didn't see this until just now. It's too late in the day for me to call her...You need to know that there are literally thousands of people praying for your beloved wife and for your family.
