I just watched Barack Obama on a brief Fox News Clip. In answering a question he said (paraphrasing),
"Are there voters who would not vote for a presidential candidate who is African American? I have no doubt there are such voters. But I'm not concerned because those kinds of voters would also be opposed to my politics.
He just said that racists are the same people as those who oppose liberal Democrats; i.e Republicans. I hope some interpid reporter follows up on that comment.
I wonder how Senator "Sheets" Byrd fits into Obama's world view.

This has been all over conservative talk radio. Stupid answer to a stupid question. Obama should be laughed at not asked if his race is a factor. Colin Powell merited that question because he had a strong resume, this Obama thing is absolute nonsense.

We aren't in the alternate universe. An intrepid reporter following up a racist statement from Obama would only happen in that upside-downside reality.
ABC Nightly News is on right now: all Obama all the time. Just what is going on? Why are these people shilling for this guy? Whenever they're not talking about Obama they are dumping on Bush.

He was asked if people wouldn't vote for him because he is black. He said something like people would not vote for me because I am black or if they don't agree with my politics.

Another black Illinois politician, former Chicago mayor Harold Washington, said something similar one election when he said that if you didn't vote for him, you were a racist.
Obama is a neophyte to the national stage. This won't be the last gaffe he makes - count on that.
