Holiday Trees Removed From Sea-Tac
KIRO Newsradio 710 ^ | 12-9-06 | NA

Posted on 12/09/2006 3:57:21 PM PST by ECM

All Holiday trees at Sea-Tac Airport were removed this morning after several community member complaints. They say the trees don't represent all cultures and religions...The trees will not go up again...the airport policy on decorations will be reviewed after the holidays.

Odd and outrageous.

Last week I read that the State of Washington PAID to have a C H R I S T M A S Tree sent to Washington DC where it is now displayed as the national C H R I S T M A S Tree.

So the Port of Seattle somehow thinks the display of a C H R I S T M A S Tree is inappropriate. How about a Kwanzaa tree?

Attention Everyone. Please send the authorities at Sea-
Tac an email and let them know what you think of banning "Holidy" Trees. Last week they spread out the carpit to please a group of Muslims who had a pray-in protest of how poorly they are treated and incoveineced at our airports.

My Comment Is:

I am outraged that "Holiday" Trees are now banned because you have given in to politically correct pressure by idiots in our community with loud mouths. My organization is now planning a massive prayer-in to protest this insult to our religion. We will be contacting you about how to get permission for the protest. We expect between 75 and 150 people, if we can get our buses reserved in time. We will be peaceful but firm. The date is still being determined after we our committee meets. We will let you know details. It is possible that several protests will be needed.

This is how the Anti-Christmas Gnatzies in 'The People's Republik of Madistan' handle the problem. This sign is in our State Capitol rotunda along with the Christmas Tree and a Menorah and a some frilly-dilly for Kwanza, etc. Madistan WANTS to be Seattle. Our 'Progressive' (which is "Newspeak" for 'Old Time Communist') Mayor is feverishly working on it!

In the original, it's

"Et in terra pax hominibus bonae voluntatis"

That is, "Peace on Earth toward MEN OF GOOD WILL"

In other words, if they're not of good will, then call for fire.

Whenever you hear the word "community", it's virtually assured what is to follow is complete bullshit.

As far as I know, no Christian or pro-Christmas groups have ever sued because they are offended by the non-stop attacks on their traditions and culture. Wouldn't it be great to see such a lawsuit? I imagine every FReeper who is "offended" by these actions would love to be a plaintiff in such a suit.

Someone needs to tell the whiners to respectfully shut up!

The whiners are so moronic that I'm not sure one should be respectful when telling them to shut up.

I have no problem with someone standing up for their rights as long as they understand that their rights end when they step across the line and infringe upon my rights.

I feel blessed to have many friends of other ethnic groups and those of many different religious beliefs. Not once have I been looked down upon or criticized by any of them for celebrating my holidays in a traditional way. They wish me a Merry Christmas and I send my wishes for them on their holidays. All this crap about people being offend today is nonsense. They aren't offended. They just want to control what others can and can't do. Anyone who claims to be offended by the way I celebrate Christmas will just have to be offended. Will not take down my lights or my tree and they best not try to do it for me.

"More discrimination against us Reformed Druids."

If they thought those trees were put up by Druids they would of left them in place.

"I'm continually offended by the creeping paganism that is taking over this country."

It's not paganism. Trees are sacred to pagans.

That sign is a serious smack in the face. It means that your leaders have gone over.

Update, and it's not good:

"The Port of Seattle says it had little choice. It says a Seattle rabbi with the Central Organization for Jewish Learning hired an attorney and threatened to sue if the airport did not erect an eight foot menorah to balance the message of the Christmas trees."

Guess he doesn't buy into the "Hanukkah bush" custom. Jackass.

Since Jews are, what, 5% of the population (is it even close to that percentage?), shouldn't the menorah, at best, be less than half a foot tall? I mean, if he's looking for "balance."

We did. July 1st we got out of Sodom on the Sound and returned home to Alabama. I had to take a hot shower after I got here to wash 14 years of sime from that place off my body.

Bingo! I am Jewish. If I thought I would be offended by the sight of a Christmas tree or by someone wishing me a Merry Christmas, I would jump off a bridge. It is amazing that more people don't see through this crazy power trip.
