Prayer Request for Austin - age 15 (sad update at #3290)

Posted on 11/19/2006 9:04:04 PM PST by PhatHead

More than two years ago, I asked for your prayers for my son, who was undergoing treatment for a malignant brain tumor. His treatment at the time, though physically brutal, was successful. However, Austin's cancer has returned, and he will be going back into radiation and chemo soon - he had surgery last week.

This is so hard - he pretty much missed Middle School with this, and now here goes High School. Pray for him to enjoy college...

We will very much appreciate all of your prayers. Thanks you.

Pax Christi.

Hi PhatHead,

Charley Mike - Continue Mission.

Not having been in your particular situation, I can't imagine what you're feeling  - but I know it must be difficult.  I'm so very sorry to hear that you lost your dad.

I do hope and pray that Austin will soon find the bottom of this valley and that he your family will begin to rise from its depths.

There is a quote from Richard Nixon that I often think of:

"Only if you have been in the deepest valley, can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain."

So Charley Mike, PhatHead - and prepare for the climb.

I pray that Austin will again; beat those monster-like cancer cells - which do have a breaking point ; and I trust he will find their breaking point with God's Grace moving him forward. (. . .make them cry 'Uncle'!)

I pray that as he passes through his trials; Austin will finally be free to take on life's easier challenges. . .finishing school. . .going to college. . .all to the preparation for the task of fulfilling his life dreams.

God Bless Austin; and all who know and love him; those who are learning and being so enriched by the 'life lesson's' Austin is experiencing; living. . .and sharing. .

May we all continue to learn. . .appreciate and pray; and despite the suffering; and because of it; live life as if it were Perfect. . .and thus be so enriched.

Prayers continue, and expand. Thank you for the update. May your Dad's soul be in Heaven an hour before the devil knows he's gone. May Austin add his Grandpa's strength to his own, and live a long full life.

Austin was admitted to the hospital today, April 7th. The next ten days or so are the most critical time of his monthlong stay - he starts the high dose chemo tomorrow, Easter Sunday, and will begin the bone marrow transplant by the end of the week. This is very dangerous treatment, and I will not likely be online very much, but please crank up the prayers a notch...

As always, thank you.
