Not just Iraq, but as you pointed out, fear of fighting the media. Republicans were afraid of being brandished as Nazis like they always are. Problem is, as far as liberals are concerned, Lieberman could switch to the GOP and become president, and George Soros would call even HIM a Nazi. The liberals in the media will never be our friends. I agree if you want to blame anyone don't blame the President or Rove but blame the Republican candidates/incumbents especially the incumbents if they had done a good job locally they would have been voted for regardless of what the Administration was saying or doing.

If the Democrats impeach Bush (baring some as yet unknown Lewinsky type scandal) they will lose the House, the Senate, and the WH in '08. It will be perceived as a brazen radical left-wing revenge grab. I don't see it happening. Pelosi said he won't be impeached because she knows what it would do to her party.

I hear ya. If we weren't in the war to win the flippin' thing, why were we there? You shouldn't go to war without the intention to give it all you've got. With Kamrade Nikita Pelosi looking on wearing her death-grin-of-horror, Bush will concede graciously (the Bush's are bred to do that) and he will announce that he intends to work with the new congressional leadership to keep America secure.

Above all he will try to sound a clear warning to terrorists that Americans are unified and not to interpret this change as a victory for terrorism.

Which, of course, is exactly what it is.

I honestly believe that we are like the frog slowly boiling in the pot. This MSM win will empower them even more. Unless we can get rid of this third party assault, I don't see any way for conservatives to win in the near future. It's not pretty today.

Iraq is the main reason the GOP lost, along with their fear of fighting the media. Until Republicans realize that Iraq is not popular with most Americans, including Republicans we will continue to lose.

I wouldn't say Iraq is the culprit, part of it, but the problem is much bigger overall. What have the Republicans really done in office? Even when Clinton was President and we controlled both houses, the typical rant we heard was, "well...the bill would just be vetoed so there isn't any point trying to pass it."

Systemically, there has been a complete lack of leadership. Both Hastert and Lott were more concerned with being perceived as individuals willing to work with the other side, even though we know from experience that you'll be stabbed in the back later on.

We essentially controlled all three branches and the Republicans did nothing...nothing, about border security. This is in spite of the fact that the majority of Americans wanted somthing done. The real problem is a lack of leadership......

While disappointed about yesterday's outcome, I'm not totally surprised about it either.
