Lord, we continue to bring before You our brother in Christ, George W. Bush, asking that You guide his every step and be in his every thought. Keep him faithful in prayer and disciplined in the study of Your word, dear Lord. Keep us faithful as well, Father, in praying for him every moment of every day, and help him to feel the support of those prayers as he goes about his daily tasks. Lord, we are thankful to have a child of Yours in the White House for these eight years. We lift up Laura to You as well, and ask that she might feel Your presence in her life. Help both of them to grow in faith and in love for each other, for those around them, and most importantly for You. Protect them in all that they do, and keep them from harm.
Father, we continue to pray as well for our troops, especially for those in harm's way. Lord blanket them with Your protection and Your love. How we thank You for each one who has willingly sacrificed his own freedom for ours. How we thank You for their noble service in the cause of freedom, security and true peace. Thank You that they are fighting and sacrificing in this war so that we don't have to.
And finally, Father, we pray for America. Lord, we love this nation, and we thank You for the freedoms that we enjoy, but often take for granted......especially the freedom to worship as we feel led. Father, we pray for our leaders, that they would seek to be obedient to Your law as they govern, and we ask that they might have the courage of their convictions to lead and not be led by polls or popularity. Help them to come to You in prayer and to listen for Your leading, and bind Satan as he seeks to take away the morality and the honor we give You in this land. Lord, we pray for Your forgiveness, confessing that we fall far short of Your glory, and thank You in advance for the answers to our prayers. In the Name of the Risen Lord, we pray, Amen!
