Maybe Bush is better than Clinton
Mountain Mail ^ | 4/18/2006 | Bret M. Collyer

I have a few thoughts for you in response to some letters of late.

The voices now crying for the impeachment of Bush were silent during Waco, Elian Gonzales and the first World Trade Center attack, Ruby Ridge and the bombing of the U.S.S. Cole.

Their favorite president presided over the the largest bubble burst in U.S. economic history (DOT.COM).

China, India and Pakistan get nukes. The U.S. bombed Yugoslavia for weeks; hit the Chinese embassy and killed thousands of untold civilians.

The U.S. did a lot of bombing from 30,000 feet because Clinton was afraid to lose one soldier. With no U.N. backing then, the world and our enemies saw that as a cowardly way to fight a war.

Two of our embassies were bombed in Africa. The media marveled at the “charisma” of the man while al Qaeda plotted and planted terrorists.

Yes, these voices were silent. Don’t get me wrong, the Clinton administration was not the enemy, but there are some ramifications for it’s existence. Bush seems to have a lot of vocal critics and a lot of quiet supporters.

I believe giving 50 million people the chance to be free, is honorable. To ski and dance and worship how they choose (Afghanistan is still working on this).

Before everyone gives up on Iraq, people need to think about what country is geographically between Iraq and Afghanistan.

It is not a coincidence Iran is testing missiles that could be used against their neighbors – they would do that anyway. The Iraqi people are standing tall. Iran and other countries have been sending thugs and terrorists who, when they cannot successfully engage Americans, target Iraqi civilians.

To all those who think it is okay to “tag” Stop (Bush) signs, do not worry. Bush will be gone in a few years. We may then get another president who wants to “make friends” with our enemies. We will leave Iraq in defeat, as cowards like our brave soldiers were forced to do in Somalia.

World peace will become a reality and poverty will cease overnight as soon as our American women agree to wear Burkas. This has been a religious war for our enemies for generations.

I’m proud of our volunteer forces. They were finally allowed to make a stand, and are doing well.

I was not aware that the Governor of Arkansas had Federal jurisdiction in Ruby Ridge, Idaho.

Yeah he got that part wrong but the rest of the letter is pretty solid.

Also kind of funny that he thinks China got nuclear weapons when Clinton was president.

He's only off by about 30 years.

But who cares about details and truth when you can rant?

Plenty of rants around. Have you listened to any ex-Generals lately?

Maybe? As much as I feel that Bush is a small Shrub, he still stands heads and shoulders above Clinton!

I was not aware that the Governor of Arkansas had Federal jurisdiction in Ruby Ridge, Idaho.

He didn't attribute Ruby Ridge to Klinton - the title of the piece and subsequent statements almost seem to indicate he did, but a simple reading (just read the context up to that statement, just indicates that Ruby Ridge was another event that these same folks who carp at Bush, should have opened their mouths about too.

Post 4 has a better one.

Inartfully put to be sure - but I think he was referring to China (in the 1990s) getting the lastest nuclear targeting and warhead technology through 'Toon friends like Loral.... tech transfer approved by The Toon...in exchange for payment of $$$$$$ to the Dummycrats....if that ain't treason, I don't know what is....

I think you may be correct but he needs to be more clear or people will think he is some whack job.

However there was that little matter of Bernie Schwartz, Loral, Chinese missile capabilities asnd campaign contributions. Perhaps that is what is being alluded to.

China got the plans for the W-88 miniaturized nuclear warhead, likely via Clinton people, while the DOE nuke program came under Bill Richardson. It is pretty well established that they couldn't have made the particular technological leaps to get that type of warhead as rapidly as they did and the development coincided precisely with the timing of "contributions" that were traced to the Peoples Liberation Army.

He may have been refering to the expansion of nuclear and missle technology obtained from Clinton.

This would be accurate.

His view has validity ( IMHO )...that many of the DUmmies who are now calling for impeachment of Bush were silent during the list of previous attacks against America.

It was not only during the Clinton era that these DUmmies were silent.
