On a 72-25 vote, senators succeeded in passing the 60-vote threshold to prevent a filibuster and allow a simple majority vote Tuesday. At least 57 senators have said publicly they will vote for the nominee.

Alito could be sworn in as early as noon Tuesday, in time for a formal introduction to the nation by President Bush during his State of the Union address Tuesday night.

Alito will become the 110 Supreme Court justice, replacing Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.

And to think these folks consider themselves representative of the "mainstream." What a joke.

Yep.....the loony left....as Rush says are the most fun to watch when they are 'out of power'.

Today the Swimmer was so unnerved by the Alito juggernaut that he was incoherent...... I took his advise & 'popped the champaign'.

How sweet it is! Indeed!

I hope Mrs. Alito sits in the balcony next to Laura Bush.

Luttig and Brown.

Any conservative be more than happy with either one. However, I think a more viable choice would be McConnell of the 10th Circuit. This next nomination, when it comes, will be all out war and if Bush is president, he will likely nominate the conservative justice who is most bulletproof. My study of the short list persuades me that person is McConnell.

"I suggest a suicide watch be placed on the assholes at DU, the Kennedy Compound and the Kerry Kitchen...."

I read some of the DUck comments after the vote.

One DUck said...We won like you win in special Olympics, you get a ribbon for showing up and running in the right direction.

I think they are tired of their leaders telling them every loss is a moral victory...lol

Most of them were going out to get drunk or high....lol

I hope the cops get them for DUi.....lol

A more substantial long term benefit to society would accrue if they simply drove off a high cliff - like the Lemmings they mimic....

Sorry - but I'm flat out of compassion for these dangerous and destructive a$$holes.
