Rev. Peterson Believes Belafonte’s Meeting With Hugo Chavez Constitutes Treason
Los Angeles- Calypso singer and liberal activist Harry Belafonte led an American delegation including actor Danny Glover to meet with Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez this past Sunday. Belafonte joined Chavez on his radio and TV broadcast and railed against President Bush, calling him “the greatest terrorist in the world.”
This latest act by Belafonte to associate himself with a clear enemy of the United States has caused BOND founder and President Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson to question Belafonte’s sanity.
Rev. Peterson said: “Harry Belafonte’s hatred of President Bush is causing him to embrace America’s enemies. I also believe that his actions are treasonous as described by Article Three, Section Three of the U.S. Constitution which says that ‘adhering to our enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort’ constitutes Treason.”
According to reports, Belafonte told Chavez during the broadcast, “No matter what the greatest tyrant in the world, the greatest terrorist in the world, George W. Bush says, we’re here to tell you: Not hundreds, not thousands, but millions of the American people…support your revolution.”
Rev. Peterson added: “Chavez is a brutal, paranoid dictator with nuclear ambitions who wants nothing more than to destroy the U.S. It’s time we take our laws seriously and consider Harry Belafonte, Danny Glover, Professor Cornel West and other Americans who met with Chavez as domestic enemies of the United States.”
In the past, Chavez has himself called President Bush a ‘genocidal murderer’ and a ‘madman.’ He’s also accused President Bush of trying to overthrow him—claims which the U.S. has strongly denied.

Harry Belafonte's only claim to fame was his ability to sing calypso songs. That fleeting bit of success half a century ago made him a "celebrity." There are a great many morons in this country who believe that if someone is famous, whether it be for singing "Day-O," like Harry did, or for fellating your boyfriend on video, like Paris Hilton did, their opinions therefore are more important, more astute, and more valid than the opinions of the butcher or the baker.
The answer is YES. Does Harry even know the question? No.

Too bad there's no legal way to demonstrate adequate response to assholes like Harry.

Anyway, there was a lot of jaw-jacking going on between vets and I took the opportunity of the magazine sitting there to broach the subject of Bellefonte being their "man-of-the-year." While only some had heard of his latest rantings, none knew of his MOY award-and they were AARP members. I facillitated alot of discussion about his anti-Americanism. I let them know there are other senior organizations on the scene.
So it was my little hit at AARP for their treachery since I am too young to cancel my membership :(
People like Belafonte aren't crazy--they're evil. Might as well call it what it is.

There have been a lot of things out therer that constituted tresson but no one has ever been charged with it. We've let our guard down and we are paying for it now. As for belafonteee, he can go wherever. I could care less about him.
