Culture of Corruption
11/2/05 | mosquitobite

FReepers... we've seen what power we have to bring lies and spin to light. After DeLay, Frist, Libby, and yesterday's closed session, it's clear the Democrats have declared war!

They have and are obviously planning on uncovering every little issue they can possibly come up with to declare "Look Americans! Republicans are corrupt!" Just look at what they're still up to in Maryland!

Are we going to let this stand? We know the Republicans in Washington can't seem to find their spines in order to fight back. Can WE? Locally, what can WE find? Regionally, what can WE uncover? We have the majority. Let's not lay down and take it anymore!

Can we start some kind of activist group specifically formed for investigative reasons? Down and dirty time imho...

My brother is what I would consider one of the "uneducated electorate". He's 25 years old. Yesterday he mentioned how Bush & the Republicans were corrupt. He's got the hook in his mouth.

Our fight is not only with the Democrats, it is with the media.

He's got the hook in his mouth, but his age group doesn't vote in large numbers. After he has worked a few more years, then we will see where the hook is.

After all this time, you're just discovering this!!??

Well, welcome to the fight. The Dems declared war on America decades ago.

Today on Fox former Sen Al D'Amato and Bill Krystal both slammed Sen Frist for over reacting and both said the Dems won this battle. Do any of you agree or not?

On other sites I belong to, the consensus is that Dems won yesterday. Yes. That's what infuriates me!

If each one of us willing to wage a battle took 1 Democrat politician and started investigating... what would we find? I'm sure there's PLENTY. Let's say a group each takes a Dem Senator or Representative...and shares email addresses. The brainstorming and pieces of the puzzle would no doubt start to come together!

All you need to do is plug names into FR search and you can come up with all sorts of sordid activities on the part of Democrats.

Getting stuff on the opposition is "opposition research" and it requires skill and care to do well. Often though, people with no particular experience recognize and learn interesting things. Getting the facts and putting them up on this forum is a good start, as is sending them on to our candidates and their researchers. Accuracy, clear sourcing, and thoroughness are essential.

What do they win? Winning is counting the votes...
President- Republicasn
Senate - Republican
House - Republican

The Governors of the four largest states- Republicans.

Let them win the little -whateveritis-- it's diddlysquat. Jake

As I said on a previous bolg I am ready to Lock and Load! It seems like the libs are like Methuselah - a head with many snakes swaying in all directions trying to devour any any one they can having one thing in common - to destroy Bush. I am sick of the MSM and the liberals and if anyone has suggestions how we can bring a quicker close to these slithering traitors, I'm in!!!! Let's Rock & Roll! - The time is overdue!!!!

That would be Medusa. But I get your point. I think the Repubs should call the Dems bluff and agree with them and begin an intensive and very public (as far as they are able to be) investigation into Able Danger, on their own, leaving the Dems out as much as possible. Bet they would scurry for cover then.

One of Bayh's biggest contributors is a developer. Wonder how Bayh feels about the Kelo decision...

This is the kind of thing that Indiana voters would care about!

You are right, thanks for the correction. It was Medusa. I am still in the explode mode, though! Have a good one!

When she left the LSC in 1982, she joined the board of the New World Foundation, a leftist philanthropy that funds, among other causes, Communist insurgency movements in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.

Guess who?

Find a local party organization or candidate and start researching. Pick research targets and start looking for bad stuff. Collect and file away for future use unflattering newspaper articles, financial disclosure statements, campaign finance reports, and other source documents. Think like a combination of detective, investigative reporter, prosecutor, and campaign adman.

Most bad stuff about public officials and candidates falls into three categories: (1) bad personal conduct, like DUIs, not paying child support, credible and damaging material in lawsuits, unpaid debts, etc.; (2) abuse of office and questionable favors for oneself and for friends and political supporters; and (3) conservative vs. liberal policy matters, like taxes, spending, and other issues.

Be creative in what you look for. One Congressional race that I know of tilted to the conservative Republican because an outside conservative group slammed the liberal Democrat candidate for her out of control local spending, which ranged from an over budget, badly managed courthouse project to a brass statue of a frog that cost nearly $20,000. The frog was a vanity project for a fellow county commissioner, and a picture of it made a nice visual complement to the elaborate new courthouse, suggesting that the courthouse project was out of control because spending at all levels was out of control.

In time, even if no one does much to teach you, you will learn how to do opposition research by doing it and gradually getting better at it.

i agree WE need to start investigating the dems.

Lets start with Able Danger...Push and call your Reps to demand more info

2nd lLets find out more about Byrd and his KKK relationship
does Kayne West know he is supporting an exKKK member?

How about Schumers cronies digging literaaly up trash to discredit a Rep?

Where are the news stories about this.

If we start with one and buzz all day about it ....

IT JUST MIGHT WORK.
