It has given me pause about what I should prepare for if a disaster event would take place in or close to an urban area.

Same here. Last night I told my husband that we need to seriously plan for something like this- including getting armed. We have gone to the shooting range and thought about getting guns before, but always put it on the back burner. I think the time has come. I want to have survival bags/equipment and yes, weapons and ammo packed and at the ready. I don't live IN a big city, but close enough to one that if something like this happened, the thugs would probably fan out into this area. When things get desperate enough, even decent people might try coming after you for your car, food, water, whatever you have. Watching this whole scenario unfold is terrifying.

Prediction: By this time next week, the general consensus among Americans outside New Orleans will be that the government shouldn't spend one f#cking dime rebuilding that sh!t-hole.

I am praying for you and yours. I am in shock just reading this thread....it is horrifying. Absolutely no excuse for any of the bad behavior. No excuse to for the people helping out to be fired at. You should not have to leave your house and worry about what will be left when you get back. I am just stunned.

This is a great example of liberal government. However it is the opposite of diversity. These are tribal thugs who never get out of their mob mentality. They stay rooted in their cesspool society because of their total lack of responsibility. The "government" tends to all their needs.
Take a good close look at what happens to all the liberal run cities. This situation vs. Guilliani is crystal clear!
And I agree with poster who said kill ALL these looters and thugs threatening the other victims and the beautiful people trying to help them. They are truly equal to the terrorists!
