Hani Nur el-Din, a Palestinian professor of archaeology at Al Quds University, said he and his colleagues considered biblical archaeology an effort by Israelis "to fit historical evidence into a biblical context." He added: "The link between the historical evidence and the biblical narration, written much later, is largely missing. There's a kind of fiction about the 10th century. They try to link whatever they find to the biblical narration. ...

What the heck are the Palestinians and muslims claiming in the Koran? It's udder uber BS and modification of crime scenes and Bibles and historical holocaust and Nazi revisionism.

"effort by Israelis "to fit historical evidence into a biblical context."

Also known as "making the shoe fit."

OT is full of allegories, myths and fables.

The last I heard they found an extra-biblical reference , albeit slight, to the very existence of King David (a few years ago). And now this... I hope it sheds some additional light on the (continuing) historical reliability of the Bible. Thanks for the ping - this is one of my favorite subjects...

Great ping! Thanks!! I feel like he is one of our direct ancestors.
They are rebuilding the temple in Israel and have brought together the Sanhedrin after 1000+ years. They are also building the throne!! I am looking up for His return!!!!
This is sooo exciting!

The only throne he is going to sit in is the one in Heaven.

Good Shabbas!

I am praying that al Qaida does not take the anniversary of the Heroshima bomb as an excuse for a major attack.

When we pray for Israel I'll put in an extra word, as ever, for our great supporter, the USA.

...I pray for Canada but I always sense a chuckle from Adonai...

;)

An Israeli archaeologist says she has uncovered in East Jerusalem what may be the fabled palace of the biblical King David. Her work has been sponsored by a conservative Israeli research institute and financed by an American Jewish investment banker who would like to prove that Jerusalem was indeed the capital of the Jewish kingdom described in the Bible.

One sentence of fact and then all left-wing Jew-hating propaganda. That's the New York Times.

as many Palestinians have said, including the late Yasir Arafat, the idea of a Jewish origin in Jerusalem is a myth

This from a man who was born in Cairo and invented the myth that he himself was born in Jerusalem. Of course the communist scumbag who wrote this manages to overlook this small fact.

Come on. Everyone knows King David was a good Muslim. I'm just waiting for them to find the ruins of his mosque. . .

And when the Arabs find it, you can be sure the New York Times archeology expert will endorse it as genuine.

Jesus will return as he left, from out of the clouds. He will rule and reign from Jerusalem.

Arafat was once asked about the Temple Mount. He asked what temple? Where's the temple? I see a wall...there are many old walls. I see a mosque..but I do not see a Temple

Just like Baghdad Bob. Easy translation: when a Muslim says something you both know is untrue, he's really saying "Go F--- yourself"

but the attitude should be 'yea we were here 3000 years ago, but more importantly we're here now and we have a right to be here free from your ----.'

Long term, the Israelis would have saved themselves a lot of hassle by just saying to the Muslims in East Jerusalem : "We're buying you out at a fair price (whatever the going market prices for real estate were when it was Jordanian territory). Now take your money and leave"

He will reign from the spiritual Jerusalem, not the earthly.

Oh please, Jewish origin in Jerusalem is a myth. Eye rolling.

No, the Jewish writings from 2000 years ago were cunningly falsified to give the Jews of today a claim to Jerusalem. Really, it's true. Just ask Yasir or Osama or Adolf.

A myth cooked up to justify Jewish "aggression," eh? Sounds familiar. Never mind that liberals love to conflate Biblical Fundamentalism with Holocaust denial!

There are many FReepers (who shall remain nameless) who make it their main point in life to attack the Bible and its historicity and veracity. They wonder why I call myself a conservative. I wonder why they don't call themselves anti-Semites, since that's essentially what they are.

It all comes down to the Bible, folks. Not Herzl, not the Holocuast but the Torah. Zionism without the Bible is dead and it's not coming back. Zionism as one aspect of Torah Judaism is coming to life!

I want a rebuilt Temple and the Kingdom of G-d on earth. What the h*ll are you atheists doing here?
