Episode 905: The Losing Edge
If the boys can lose just one baseball game, it gets them out of playing the boring sport for the entire summer.

Episode 905 Press Release
A winning season and overzealous parents threaten to ruin the entire summer, when the boys of South Park head to the State Championship in an all new episode of South Park entitled “The Losing Edge,” premiering Wednesday, April 6 at 10:00 p.m. on Comedy Central.

The kids desperately want an end to the boring baseball season. The problem is they’ve won so many games that now they’re in the playoffs. Just one loss would mean the season’s finished and they’d be free from America’s favorite pastime for the entire summer.

Easy...they are usually slower...not much area to cover...And they block the plate well.

I'm usually a fan of the show but I had to turn off last weeks half way through.

I wonder if Cartman will be taking Steroids? Beefcake!!!

Last week's episode was a classic. The best of the season and the timing of it made it, in my opinion, the best episode of all time.

After struggling with the idea of that adulterous husband pulling his wife's feeding tube, Kyle made perfect sense: Cartman is right for the wrong reason, were wrong for the right reason. Amen.

People are funny. IMHO, it doesn't ~get~ better than last weeks show. I've watched it again and again. It's spot on. Try it again.

I wasn't the fattest kid, but I learned how to play catcher in 7th grade. Trust me, I know how to block the plate. A couple of frat alums learned that the hard way during our annual active/alum softball game. BTW: I played football in HS too, was an OT... ;^)

I didn’t find it very funny.

I wasn’t offended by it or anything, and largely agreed with the point, but it didn’t make me laugh out loud that much (though Garrison as the woman arrested trying to bring her water was hysterical.)

The Jennifer Lopez one was probably the one that made me laugh the most. It was sick on so many levels. And Lemiwinks. And the Death Camp of Tolerance. And The Rainforest Sucks. Last week’s just didn’t match up with the classics.

why is the fat kid always the catcher?

Others have said why, but it is especially cruel, considering that playing catcher is bad for the knees, which is a chronic issue for the overweight in the first place...

I always wondered about the fat kid=catcher thing. My son plays catcher and is skinny as a rail. He just loves getting the ball all the time and having people run into him (he really likes wrestling and football also, he's pure rough and tumble). I think a strong arm and the right mental approach are whats needed. To quote my son when his coach tried to make him a shortstop "but middle infielders are wussies"

Cartman: I'm not fat, I'm big-boned.
Stan: No, Jay Leno's chin is big-boned. You are a big fat ass.

Stan: You guys, I'm getting that John Elway football helmet for Christmas.
Cartman: How do you know?
Stan: 'Cause I looked in my parents' closet last night.
Cartman: Yeah, well I sneaked around my mum's closet too and saw what I'm getting. The Ultravibe Pleasure 2000.
Stan: What's that?
Cartman: I don't know but it sounds pretty sweet.

Cartman: Hey, speaking of pounding ass, here comes Stan's little homo dog.

Cartman: I'm gonna be on television. I'm gonna be on television.
Stan: We don't believe for a minute that you won that contest fairly, fat boy.
Cartman: Oh, stop defending your girlfriend for writing about some stupid fish.
Stan: Dude, dolphins aren't stupid. They're inteligent and friendly.
Cartman: Intelligent and friendly on rye bread with some mayonaise.
Stan: Dolphins are way smarter than you.
Cartman: Oh, yeah? If they're so smart, how come they live in igloos?
Stan: Dude, that's not dolphins, that's Eskimos.
Cartman: Dolphins, Eskimos, it's all a bunch of tree-hugging hippie crap.

Cartman: You guys, you know what? My grandma was Dutch-Irish, and my grandpa was lesbian, that makes me quarter-lesbian.
Stan: You're just saying that Cartman.
Kyle: Yeh, you're not a lesbian fatass.
Cartman: I am too.

Stan: What the hell are you doing Cartman?
Cartman: My mom said if you want to become a lesbian, you have to lick carpet.
Stan: Really?
Cartman: This is a bunch of crap! I've been licking this carpet for three hours, and I still don't feel like a lesbian.

Stan: I can't wait for Ms. Ellen to see what a raging lesbian I am.
Cartman: I'm a bigger lesbian than you.
Stan: No, you're a fatter lesbian than me.
Kyle: Screw you guys, I'm king lesbian.

For me, it's always been the Nambla episode, Janet Reno as the Easter Bunny, The AFT/2 guys in a hot tub (Charlies Angels) episode, Cartman gets an alien anal probe, the Thanksgiving Turkey revolt, but my #1 (so far) is Scott Tenneman Must Die! It's just wrong on so many levels, and every time you say, "Oh, I can't believe they did that... It can't get any worse," you're proven wrong!

Mark

Oh, and I really like "Jew Scouts" too.
