Theresa Marie Schindler... May Daily Thread 2005 CALL TO ACTION: Our Fight for Justice Continues
Various Sources ^ | April 3, 2005 | floriduh voter

Posted on 04/03/2005 5:19:05 PM PDT by floriduh voter

Freeper friends, Terri's Memorial Service is this coming Tuesday night in Gulfport, Florida. Please check and see if www.baynews9.com will carry it on the internet.

I'm still sad and in disbelief that the rescue fell apart. It was on it's way. We were waiting there for ambulances but instead two Sheriff's cruisers arrived.

There's much work to do. There are many work groups here carrying on for Terri.

The April Daily Thread as before will be a meeting place, a news digest and even in the midst of sorrow, a place to make friends.

I want to thank everyone who did everything humanly possible for Terri and her family. Terri's safe now from a room with the blinds closed, strange people and armed guards. She'd still be here if it wasn't for judicial despots who it appears have never read the Declaration of Independence or the U.S. or Florida Constitution.

Freepers, Republicans and Democrats alike voted against Terri or didn't do enough to save her from Judge Greer.

I'd like to thank Ralph Nader, David Boies, Joe Lieberman and Wesley Smith, Phd, author of Forced Exit.

I have disdain for the Naughty Nine Republicans in the Florida Senate who vote "No" which barred Terri from legislative relief. The GOP House Members who voted "No" on Terri, shame on them too.

WHAT EXACTLY IS THE AGENDA AND WHO IS IN CHARGE? I'm afraid that Judge George Greer is in charge - of everything.

PLEASE HELP FLORIDA... CALL YOUR SENATORS AND CONGRESSMEN/WOMEN.

HELP US. We feel stranded by tyranny today, but Florida is ripe for change. We will demand it together as Americans.

Thanks, FV

Yes! And there's more work to do.

I don't know how that will play out, but I'm glad to have been a part of praying, crying, singing, emailing, posting, calling and faxing for Terri!

Maybe our work will be rewarded, in a way that we can experience it together, online!;-)

God bless us all!

Don't you think advanced directives resulting in death should only be in WRITING????

And notarized.

I would respectfully suggest sending a copy of articles about Zogby's poll to Tom Delay's office and your own congressman.

Zogby's poll is good news and should help the cause for an investigation into Terri's case.

Terri

She will always be
Simply 'Terri' to me
The one who lost her life
To a cruel conspiracy

But many hearts were touched
Her will to live still speaks
Her smile a testimony
To God's power in the weak

And on the Day of Judgment
The Lord will save the meek
But the Lake of Fire awaits the ones
Who wouldn't give a child a drink

Don't you think advanced directives resulting in death should only be in WRITING????

A requirement that they be in writing would probably be struck down as being discriminatory against people who couldn't write. A requirement that advance directives be in authenticable tangible format would be better, but even that might have problems.

The SCoFla's ruling in Browning suggests that a statute which absolutely forbade oral declarations might very well be struck down as unconstitutional. Never mind that the the SCoFla has no right to legislate such things--they probably would do so anyway. Therefore, I would suggest that it might be good to have a statute which would allow for oral directives but only in cases where such allowance was necessary to avoid the wrath of the SCoFla judges.

Requiring that anyone who is capable of expressing an advance directive in tangible form must do so in order for such directive to be enforceable would not impose any unreasonable hardship on anyone. The tricky issue would be with those not capable of expressing their directive in tangible form. I would think criteria like the above should provide pretty good protection against falsified wishes while still allowing enough of a possibility of acknowledging oral ADs to satisfy the SCoFla. The language could perhaps use refinement, but I think the principles should be pretty solid.

1. The money from a lawsuit always goes into a trust fund to pay medical expenses for the victim. The money can never be used to pay for lawyers. If any is left when the patient dies, the remainder is either given to the state or returned to the original defendant. If any is left when the patient recovers to the point of not needing extraordinary care, the remainder goes to the patient.

One can only wonder if this would have discouraged a lot of the litigating of Terri's case. Greer and others may not have had any interest without the enticement of the settlement money.

You can add to that;

An eternity of thirteen days
was the thirst that Terri bore
Of such the world had not seen before

Our GOD for this he will repay
In eternity they will forever thirst
those that never quenched her thirst

everything is carefully placed in that photo, don't you know it . . . comforts that Terri had been denied in life.

everything is cleaned up . . . and yet, the two boxes of kleenex remain on the chair, in casual disarray?

"...like a Nevada measure that would let a guardian end life-sustaining measures even if it's against a patient's known wishes, as long as it's in their best interests.'

Disgusting!!! But what do you expect from a state that sentences people to life in prison for "gaming crimes", but lets some murderers serve lesser sentences..

re: 25. Louisiana has a great bill. Florida could learn something from them. Is there a link to that bill that we could forward to the Fla House Judiciary Committee?

Hospice Woodside reported yesterday to Bay News 9 that they "were pleased that the new landscaping and bushes newly planted survived the two weeks of protestors." The Pinellas Park Police Chief was pleased with their work as well protecting everyone and a worldwide audience saw tje PPPD's good job.

(yeah, except they were accomplices in a crime, a murder).
