President George W. Bush blew it Tuesday night. He delivered a State of the Union address that downplayed his most promising - and potentially revolutionary - domestic-policy initiatives. Earlier drafts had reportedly contained a lengthy exposition of his vision of an "ownership society," expanded and strengthened by tax changes and Social Security reform.

Fear? A very powerful emotion.

Make sure your fear is not being used to control you.

Have people forgotten or did they not know?!

I didn't know, but it doesn't surprise me. I'm sure Mr. Bush hopes that this little known fact will be forgotten!

Past records come back to haunt, his supporters may not know his stance. the more investigating I did, the more I said "Would I have voted and supported him so blindly, if "I" knew?"

The Internet is a wonder to dredge up one's one words in the public eye

We have the president's ear, mr. sceptic, now do somthing with it. Would you set at home and let the socialists take the country back? Gee, I hope not. Now think, we have a shot. If we give it up it will be on your head, not mine!

As I said in an earlier post -- Leon Trotsky could run to the right of Bush. We already have socialists in the White House and I'm not voting for them again.

Amen.
We live in a "gimme it right now" age.
We're all spoiled for instant gratification.
Fast food, fast cars, one-touch speed-dialing.
Entire housing developments built in a week.

I'm not blameless either.
When my cable ISP crashes, 24k dial-up seems like an eternity and I go nutz......:))

Patience is rare....:)

I am very glad clinton or gor were not President on 911. Now, how much do you know about Bush and what he has supported in regards towards illegals throughout his political career? I know I found many surprises while searching. And being he was so amazing at 911 and throughout would you not think it is unforgivable that our borders are only gettin worse? That Bush has in fact sent the wrong message to the illegals? Heck, we consider his GW amnesty, the illegals consider it a "FRee for ALL" did you know that?

You sound like a decent thoughtful person. Just answer me this; why is the President proposing amnesty?? I would expect this from Lenin or Karl Marx......not the man I voted for!!

Amen to dat! Bump to the fact it seems Clintonian to me! And I sure hated Bubba!

I think if you follow my posts,I am not trembling in fear.I use that word as concern.I have voted in every election since Eisenhower's second term.

I have liked some of the Presidents I voted for better than others.I have always been disappointed by something or the other.

I have never wished I had voted for the democrat..even though I was tempted once or twice during campaigns.I believe Bush is better for this country.

Brainfart:

I am shaking the cobwebs out of my brain and it came to me so simplified:

The Dims support allowing amnesty for illegals, they support any GW program and the upstart in congress Guitierrez of Chicago! So clearly, any GW proposal by anyone other than Tancredo, who gets in the dirt at the border's and has a good plan, would rile the dims, yes?

How then can we say GW's GW proposal is conservative and how can conservative Republicans support it in good conscience and side along with the dims?

Is it me, or is this a 'massive' contradiction?

Massive contradiction, m'am! The line between the parties has become mighty thin...

Perhaps if the -real- Democrats ever surface again, it wouldn't be so "scary".
Something like 168 Democrat politicians are open about the fact that they belong to the Democratic Socialists of America.
This ain't yer father's Democratic party any more....:-(

And FWIW, until the mid-80s, I was a Democrat.
I realized what they were becoming and ran like hell.

Check out this website:

Ok, you disagree with me. Well, that's fine. I've written my thoughts, and you have done your job. I don't seem to be able to convince you that my side is better. We'll leave it at that. Thanks for the debate, and I wish that you would vote republican in November, but that's up to you.
