A majority of Democrats find it stressful to talk with supporters of President Donald Trump, according to a Pew Research Center poll released Thursday.
The latest national survey by Pew, conducted June 27 through July 9 among 2,505 adults, found that 68 percent of both Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents find it “stressful and frustrating” to talk about politics with people who have a different opinion of Trump. Just 28 percent of the two groups found it “interesting and informative.”
Republicans in the same poll were more split on the question. Only 52 percent of Republicans or Republican-leaning independents said that it’s stressful to talk about politics with people who have a different opinion of the president. Forty-two percent found it interesting and informative.
The poll found that white Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents are more likely to find it stressful to talk with Trump supporters than did black or Hispanic Democrats. While 74 percent of white Democrats say it is stressful, only 56 percent of blacks and 61 percent of Hispanic Democrats shared the same opinion.
Women find talking with people with a different view of Trump more frustrating than men, 64 percent compared to 54 percent. Adults under 30 are actually more likely to find conversations with people of the opposite political persuasion interesting than are older Americans, 42 percent to 33 percent.
Snowflakes really need their safe places. Walking about in pajamas all day is no way to project a positive view of the world.

We have a long time friend that worked with hubby. Never knew he was a stupid, I mean spouts CNN to the max stupid, liberal. Since Trump was elected his FB posts sound like an MSNBC/CNN nonsense page.

It seems very different now. Where I work, there was almost never any discussion about politics. That suited me, because I was always taught that discussing politics or religion at work was just inappropriate; and I still believe that.
But now that we’ve got Trump, some of them have no problem with bad-mouthing him repeatedly, even in meetings where everyone’s ‘captive’. Listening to all that in silence is making ME ‘stressed’.

Same here - but I simply put it down to “feelings” vs. “logic”.
If you base your politics on feelings it's hard to put any logical arguments together in a discussion...:^)
Suuuuure - kind of like the lib who noticed my weapon on my hip and went on and on about how damn scary it was to see an armed person - if it was that damn scary/stressful, we would have never had the conversation.

I cannot stand Fakebook and refuse to go there. I’ve seen firsthand with my ex-BFF (flaming commie-I didn’t know how rabid she got till way too late). She puts everything, I mean everything, out there for the world to see on FB. To the point of starting arguments with her hubby’s kids! Why on earth would you do that???
I mean, what makes one think they are so special that everyone (real life or not) wants to know what you had for lunch, what your cat puked up or who you’re picking fights with today? So infuriating and so very stupid. These people really are unaware how “normal” folks view them.
