President Trump's shocking victory in November and the tumultuous beginning of his presidency have shattered many assumptions about American politics.
For many liberals and progressives, the weeks since Donald Trump’s inauguration have been filled with soul-searching and even confusion about their place in American politics.
Trump’s flurry of executive orders, coming in quick succession on matters ranging from federal employment and immigration to reorganizing the National Security Council, have driven deep division within the Democratic party. The reaction to Trump’s action have pitted pragmatic, center-left politicians against protesting activists forming “The Resistance.”
Many Democratic disagreements with Trump’s executive orders are valid and there is a clear opportunity for opposition to Trump on the basis of their faults and flaws.
However, if Democrats want to win back power they cannot do so by moving further left, resisting Trump at every move, and taking to the streets.
Put simply, the Democratic Party is on life support and there is a quiet, but ruthless, war being fought over its future....

Trump should be able to pick off more black voters than he has so far, particularly black men.
He should have placed more emphasis on illegal immigrants taking jobs away from black men who are not college grads.
“All this DNC on life support is way overstated. All they need is the black vote to turn out, and some more illegals and legals, and they will take America like they took California.”
Hopefully Joe Manchin will break off and form a third party, taking the other Blue Dogs with him.

Yeah, I caught that too. That`s how the MSM operate. They just throw stuff like that out there without giving any examples to back it up in order to come across as neutral, or to simply promote a false narrative. No wonder people despise the media.
Totally agree - the left is patient and has been working for decades to turn us basically communist. So much of the agenda has now been mainstreamed that would have been unthinkable as recently as before zero was elected. It wasn't that long ago that many thought the right was dead - and in fact many former right policies aren't even defended by the right anymore. We cannot be complacent.
You might be right - I don't see how they can continue as a party if their solution is to 'do more of the same - only MORE leftist'...
And prior to Nov 8 those on both sides of the aisle were talking about the demise of the GOP.
But if they lose forty million illegals and if voter ID becomes supported by a differently constituted supreme court they are toast.
Which is why their violence will escalate.

As abhorrent as the rioting and idiotic protests have been, it’s to the benefit of conservatives for them to continue, so long as it does not spread outside of leftist enclaves. The effective offensive fronts on the right need to keep up the pressure, in the same forms that have led to Trump’s electoral success. That runs the gamut, from Reddit and 4Chan to controversial campus speeches by Milo and others to President Trump and his terse but lethal Tweeting that drives even some on the right nuts. It worked. Keep going. The fools are driving themselves into the ground. Don’t give them a lifeline now.
it is going on but it is with the sheep who fallow them. a lot of the vote democrat because they believe the lies are watching and are very troubled by what they see. I believe if trump plays it right he can peel away at two groups that support him. inner city poor blacks and the non politicaly active gay community. those that view there sexuality as there reason for political activities are lost causes along with black racist’s. all trump has to do is have his actions speak louder then the lies that those who call them selves leaders speak.

I agree about Jessica T - can’t stand her voice and she speaks really quickly. She’s on various “panels” as the “token Dim” on Fox News and Fox Biz channels quite often.
Sheesh, what hand-wringing.
Every time a major party gets trounced they change up the players and re-emerge in a few years.
The Republicans just did it (much to the anger and chagrin of the old guard).
This is not difficult to figure out if one steps above the noise for bit. Plus it helps to live through a few of these cycles to see it, or maybe even study history (gasp!).

Here's the problem with 'more free sh!t: after 8 years of Obama they've gotten all the big free stuff... and the 'little' free stuff won't work...
