And I think that, so many times, white non-college-education educated white males have voted Republican. They voted against their own economic interests because of guns, because of gays, and because of God, the three Gs, God being the womans right to choose. --House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to Judy Woodruff in an interview Wednesday
What Nancy Pelosi said isn't necessarily a new idea: the theory that white, working class men vote Republican because of social issues and -- from Democrats' perspective -- to the detriment of their economic interests.
But it is worth taking a closer look this year. Hillary Clinton is struggling mightily this campaign with white men, who, according to Washington Post-ABC News polling, are supporting Trump by higher margins than they did for Mitt Romney in 2012; 77 percent of them hold an unfavorable view of the Democratic nominee. And there's a possibility the presidential race will be played out in the Rust Belt and Midwest, where there is a higher concentration of white, working class men.
While we can't ask every white, non-college-educated man who they're voting for and why, we can get an idea of how strongly they feel about the three issues Pelosi pointed out. So let's do that.
Do non-white working men feel more strongly about...

DW and I both have Ph.D. degrees. She is a University Professor, I am retired, but was literally a rocket scientist before I retired.
We are both Trump supporters, although we both believe in God and own guns.
Tell me about that uneducated part again...
I haven’t read the article, but it’s the WaPo, so I bet they are going to say she is right.
I’ll read it, and see if I’m right.
Actually they say no because they say that gay marriage and abortion aren’t important to white men because they support them. I should have seen that twist coming, WaPo.
Excellent point.
Me too.
Is She right?

The Site SUCKS...
No, that's why his uneducated detractors hate him.
His supporters are generally well-educated.
Pelosi's just old. (And ugly.)
You forgot something:
Unlike women like Nancy; into Witches, dildos and satanism.
You know me, sir!
Sure White ‘working’ men are pissed at the politicians but it’s not just them. I believe that it’s nearly all working people. People who work for a paycheck to take care of their families and themselves too. and the knowledge that the Government in all it’s various taxes and fees takes over half of their income.
Of course some never do realize that but most do and they are really angry at the government as well as ‘big business’ who want workers that will work for even lower wages. Being squeezed between a ‘rock and a hard place’ is no fun at all.
So as I see it this election is not about the haves and have-nots, it’s really between the takers and the makers. The makers being both small business people and the people who work for a paycheck. The Makers also believe in Law and order. Unfortunately the laws are being turned against them more and more.
