Trump, GOP leaders realizing they may need each other to eliminate Cruz

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Donald Trump and some mainstream Republicans are engaged in a long-distance flirtation. Both sides are coming to the realization that they'll need each other if the billionaire businessman becomes the party's presidential nominee.

The GOP establishment is no fonder of Trump than when he first roiled the campaign last summer with his controversial comments about immigrants and women. But with voting beginning in just over a week, his durability atop preference polls has pushed some donors, strategists and party elders to grudgingly accept the prospect of his winning the nomination.

"We'd better stop hoping for something else and accept the possibility that he's our nominee and be prepared to rally around him if that's the case," said Fred Malek, a top Republican presidential fundraiser....

20 million illegals here.

20 trillion in debt. 60 trillion more in unfounded future liabilities.

A million Muslims coming this year alone to U S. 300k refugees and rest via legal immigration.

We are in a fight for survival.

Throw out all existing politicians and start over.

Build a wall. Deport illegals. Ban Muslims. Rebuild America. Stop sending jobs away. Sound familiar?

Cruz isn’t a NBC. So it’s not really about him. This is damaging Trump
for the general.

By the looks of the latest polls, I don’t think Trump needs the help.

Yeah. I think their plan for the next 24 hours is to take out Cruz, so that they can take out Trump later.

By Monday it will be something different.

They’re the same breed of cat. You can’t trust any of them.

There you are what? Trump does not need the GOPe. They need him. The latest polls show Trump increasing his lead. Cruz is either flat or falling in the polls. I like Cruz and will support him in the future. However right now I am supporting Trump.

This whole race is insanity!

Cruz is a proven conservative (well he flopped on TPP/TPA and Amnesty) but other than that....he’s the least Rino-ish member of the Senate/Congress perhaps.

Trump is telling it like every Conservative should want a guy to say it.

And every political commentator is out for their blood. As our their supporters.

Kind of reminds me of 2008 when Clinton and Obama supporters were beating each other with bats and assaulting one another.

Evidently he thinks so, or he would not have accepted the help of “Big Corn” in Iowa. If this is his example of making the deal, then this is the same old, same old, is it not?

I helped in two presidential campaigns in Iowa. Polls are notoriously unreliable there, due to it being a caucus state. My sources there tell me that Cruz has the best ground game, by far. So we shall see.

Cruz helped Big Bank and Big Gay in New York. For money not votes.

Trump and Cruz may need each other to defeat the GOPe.

Trump has taken way more flak than Cruz. For 8 months. 7 of those Cruz hid behind Trump.

And Trump said he was for Big Gay and is tied at the hip to Big Bank. What’s the difference?

“Whats the difference?”

About 30 points in the polls maybe?
