Bob Dole Endorses Jeb Bush, and Knocks Ted Cruz
The New York Times' First Draft ^ | November 11, 2015 | Maggie Haberman

Former Senator Bob Dole of Kansas endorsed Jeb Bush for president on Wednesday, saying he believed that the former Florida governor was the best qualified candidate — and also making clear that he still held a grudge against Senator Ted Cruz of Texas.

The endorsement, timed for Veterans Day — Mr. Dole fought in World War II — was announced by Mr. Bush’s campaign. But NBC News, in a brief interview with Mr. Dole, the Republican nominee for president in 1996, had cool words for only one candidate.

“I think he’s the most qualified, and we need somebody with experience and there are a lot of good candidates — I like nearly all of them,” Mr. Dole said of Mr. Bush and the rest of the field, before quietly adding, “Except Cruz.”(continued)

Dole is old and feeble. Somebody coached him on what to say.

Yes. It is disgraceful; I'd almost call it elder abuse.

Bob Dole is a true war hero, and while he was never my favorite politician (not even close), he served his state honorably. For the most part.

They need to leave the poor old man alone.

Well, Jeb locked up the 90 year old plus male veteran vote...

That should push him over the top....!

Does Bob Dole even know what year it is...?

Great patriot.... But pulls very little weight with voters...

Jeb fail...again

Bob Dole is still around? Who would have thunk it?

Maybe he could run as Bushe’s VP, oh, and they could add McCain as Dept of State. Oh, and Limpy Graham too.

Good for Dole. Excellent timing, stick a fork in the Bush campaign fire up the Cruz supporters and remind Conservatives why they should be part of the Cruz campaign. I thank Senator Dole and appreciate his service to the nation during WWII.

And one might say
‘The poor man needs to leave US alone’

However, Veterans Day and all, he did have his deserved say and we thank him for his service in the military. Not so much for his service in DC

GO CRUZ!!
