Trump Personal Business Distractions

Posted on 09/20/2015 11:44:57 AM PDT by NGC 6822

For weeks I have been wondering why no media reporter, GOP candidate, debate moderator, network political analyst or individual citizen has asked Mr. Trump a very simple and basic question.

“Mr. Trump, if you are elected president, who will manage your businesses?”

I do not think this is a trivial question. The job of president demands 100% mental dedication and cannot tolerate conflicts with personal business interests. Owning an on-going business is not the same as putting a stock portfolio in a blind trust. To be sure Mr. Trump does have many managers to run day-to-day operations. But, I see even now that his campaign priorities are being compromised.

He speaks about important issues in a broad manner, but his failure to provide detail and offer specific solutions reveals a paucity of deep knowledge about these issues. I believe that he has just not had the time to study the issues in depth. His business obligations take precedent.

He often says, “We are looking into this…” “We will study the problem.” “We will fix this so fast that it will make your head spin.” Who is “we”? My head is already spinning.

When the current president (with no experience) was elected, the American people were promised, “Don’t worry, he will receive good advice from his appointments.” After how many czar appointments, we ended up with nothing—not even the czars anymore. They have disappeared!

Consider the following headline taken from “The Wrap” 18 Sep 2016:

Donald Trump Cancels Major GOP Speech Amid Obama Muslim Backlash

Now, look at the text under the headline:

“But according to a statement sent by his campaign, the GOP frontrunner is ditching his appearance at the Heritage Action Presidential Forum because of a ‘significant business transaction’.” - See more at: http://www.thewrap.com/donald-trump-cancels-major-gop-speech-amid-obama-muslim-backlash/#.dpuf

So, are we to understand that when the going gets tough for Mr. Trump, business obligations will take priority?

If Mr. Trump is elected president, and the economy turns sour, will he be lying in bed at night wondering about the intrusion of Russia into Syria, or about the health of the real estate market in New York? And, if two urgent phone calls ring in the oval office, one from the secretary general of NATO, and the other from his top business manager about a delicate negotiation that has been hanging for weeks, which one will he pickup first? Of course we know what he will say, but what can we believe?

But equally noted he does not have to do that...he can run his business as president if he chooses to....saying that he will hand over his hotels to the family doesn’t actually include all his other ventures.

He has said repeatedly that the combination of his three kids who are in his business and his other executives now do much and are prepared to handle it all.

Not to worry—though very kind of you to show such concern.

He has two grown sons and Ivanka runs a lot now.

Geesh

He is a big boy. He can afford to pay the help.

Who do you think’s been handling it while he’s been campaigning? His two ramrod sons and his brilliant, beautiful, elegant daughter. The very idea, that he announced for POTUS, but forgot to consider this detail! I dub thee “Smartest Guy In The Room”.
Next desperate question.

Don't worry your pretty little head. Trump can handle it. He's got people in place to handle his empire when the time comes. Spirit of '16 photo 0-trump-deleware_zpsrgq5tw0n.jpg

His businesses will be much less a distraction then King Putt’s golfing. Besides I believe his children work for his business.

Great answer! King Putt, yes. To the OP, Trump has said that his children and other management will run the business. Comparing Trump to Obama, no. Obama had zero real world experience.

I really, really liked Don, Jr. on The Apprentice. He just seemed like a down to earth guy.

Because, when it comes to Trump, facts do not matter. “The One” should not be questions,he should just be unquestioningly worshiped. Anyone who says otherwise should be called a racist, er, whatever they are calling them now.

Trump already said that his son, daughter, and staff are very capable to take care of his empire while he fixes America with the sweep of the pen and the Senate, House, and a cleaned up Supreme Court. One very hard job will be to work to eliminate the communists both in the Democrats and Republicans. That is a big one. The fence, small problem building. Obamacare, finished. Etc. Get it????? A real man. Trump for President. Trump and only Trump with Cruz can manage it. Too big for the rest.

Was George Washington asked the same question when he was president? or what about that Peanut Farmer Jimmah Carter?

He answered this question by telling his interviewer his children are ready to run the family business.
This may not be an adequate blind trust. I do not believe, however, Kennedy put his family’s holding in a blind trust. They remained under family control.
Carter, to his great dismay, suffered the misfortune of putting his company in a blind trust that ran it into the ground.

My post was absolutely in no way meant to imply a comparison with Obama. I am a loyal conservative who is only looking for the most qualified republican candidate.

The question I raised is simple and it can be applied to all candidates.

If it makes you feel better, I will flatly say that I agree with all that you said, AND there isn’t a single democrat candidate that I would even consider voting for either now, nor anytime in the far distant future.

Really is starting to look like that isn’t it......most of the time now I don’t bother posting to Trump threads it’s always the same repeats of the former threads....aside from the times all the candidates gather I’m not interested in his rallys.

I’m more interested in how he measures up to those who know what they’re talking about...this last one he fell flat compared to all the others...I don’t think he likes using notes and that clearly showed...he was happy to move onto the Q&A’s......even there his responses were not complete but shadowed in a great deal of “rallying” comments.

I think he hasn’t yet learned debates and rally’s are two different things altogether, and ‘obvious’ he’s trying to get his footing, which also evidences what it will be like if he does win the Election...he’ll be stumbling and flustered a great deal in Washington just getting his feet on the ground let along tackle the job at hand.

How can this country afford the time it will take for Trump to even get adjusted to the very basics???? Look how long he’s been running and yet to get his feet planted well on the issues etc.
