As a critical step to protecting families and inviting more people to enter legally, in 2014, Sen. Cruz proposed legislation to prevent Obama from illegally expanding amnesty. The House acted to solve the ongoing crisis and passed bills that closely mirrored Sen. Cruz’s proposals, but regrettably the Senate Democrats refused to allow a vote on the measures.

In 2013, Sen. Cruz proposed amendments to the “Gang of 8” bill that would strengthen border security, expand green card opportunities, increase high-skilled “H1B” visas, prevent illegal aliens from receiving welfare benefits, and enforce the rule of law.

Last night I linked to a recent audio of Trump on the phone with Mark Levin. Donnie is so down-to-earth, so sensible, so pro-America. And he grows more presidential every day. And the left is quaking in their Guccis.

When was the field deep and talented? I’ve found this field disappointing and irritating for a while now.

A bunch of posters on another thread here yesterday delighted in calling me a troll for not joining them in posting mindless hate of Trump. Lots of FReaks quaking HERE.

This moron is simply one of the hangers-on of the establishment, an establishment that has utterly failed to serve - or even care about - the American people for at least the last 50 years.

So now that the American people have gotten sick and tired of being lied to and hosed by these people who purport to represent us, who claim to be so much smarter than us (and, with that, the “right” to make all decisions for us), now this Bozo is upset and perplexed. Upset because maybe his meal ticket is going away, and perplexed because he - super-intelligent guy that he believes himself to be - was blind-sided.

Well, tough crap! Stop foaming at the mouth and bothering us, and crawl back into your hole. Leave us alone, we’ve had it with you and people like you.

I still back Cruz, but Ted is missing 2 things that Trump has:

1) Money - Cruz cannot say with a straight face that he is independent of having to beg others to contribute to his campaign (contributions that ALWAYS come with strings). NO, this isn’t different than 99.9% of campaigns, but it is a fact nonetheless.

2) Trump has such name recognition, and is so in-your-face an Alpha Male, that winning the election will likely be easier for him.

If Cruz doesn’t get the nomination, I’d love for Trump to make him Veep (so that Ted can run in 2024), AG or head of Homeland Security. A possible appointment to the Supreme Court would be nice, but I’d rather have Ted having a LOT to do with the choice of nominees.

This is NOT your typical election - if it was, Trump wouldn’t be involved in any way. People are sick to death of politics (and politicians) as usual. It is time for another of those bloodless coups that the American political system is famous for - with this one to hopefully reverse the effects of the last one in 1933.

The House acted to solve the ongoing crisis and passed bills that closely mirrored Sen. Cruz’s proposals, but regrettably the Senate Democrats refused to allow a vote on the measures.

Why do we need to invite more people to enter legally? We bring in 1.1 million permanent immigrants a year and 640,000 guest workers annually. We bring in more immigrants than the rest of the world combined. We have just had the two highest decades of immigration in our history.

In 1970 one out of 21 was foreign-born; today it is less than one in 8, the highest in 105 years; and within a decade it will be one in 7, the highest in our history. We are being colonized. 87% of the legal immigrants are minorities as defined by the USG. They use welfare to a much greater extent than the native born. And Cruz says we need to bring in more? Immigrants vote more than two to one Dem. And immigrants are taking American jobs and depressing wages. Insane.

The American people are sick of these symbolic votes and token bills. More green eggs and ham.

In 2013, Sen. Cruz proposed amendments to the “Gang of 8” bill that would strengthen border security, expand green card opportunities, increase high-skilled “H1B” visas, prevent illegal aliens from receiving welfare benefits, and enforce the rule of law.

Here is what Cruz proposed: Cruz Tries to Claim the Middle Ground on Immigration

“The amendment that I introduced removed the path to citizenship, but it did not change the underlying work permit from the Gang of Eight,” he said during a recent visit to El Paso. Mr. Cruz also noted that he had not called for deportation or, as Mitt Romney famously advocated, self-deportation.

Besides barring citizenship while instituting some level of legalization for those here already, Mr. Cruz has proposed increasing the number of green cards awarded annually, to 1.35 million from 675,000. He also wants to eliminate the per-country limit that he said left applicants from countries like Mexico, China and India hamstrung when they tried to gain legal entry to this country.

Cruz wants to legalize the 12 to 20 million illegal aliens and more than double guest worker programs. We don't have a shortage of skilled or unskilled labor in this country. We have a shortage of jobs. Cruz is currying the favor of his corporate paymasters in much the same way he did with the TPA fight.

“Then why is a reality TV clown beating all of them?”

He asks an excellent question. Most of the 2016 lineup comprises a bunch of milk toast mediocrities like Bush, Graham, Pataki, Kasich, etc. Only a few really stand out, like Jindal, Cruz, Walker and, if she can shut off the obsession with Trump, even Carly Fiorina. So, the bench isn’t really deep, but part of the bench is excellent. It’s this salient point the writer hopes to camouflage with his generalities.

Trump dwarfs the field on both sides in lifetime achievements.

yes, the big difference between Trump and all the others, well maybe not Rand Paul, is that the rest all spend other peoples money while Trump contributes millions of dollars in taxes that they spend.

Trump is what my father always hoped all his children would be, contributing members of society.

Well I like Cruz also but I’m not wild about his wanting to increase H1-B visas by 500% and I’m not wild about what I think his vote on TPP is going to be.
