Remember when the 2016 field of Republican presidential candidates was supposed to be so deep and talented? Then why is a reality TV clown beating all of them?
The hard-working staff here at Spoiler Alerts has begun to notice that Donald Trump isn’t going away anytime soon in the polls. Which poses a bit of a writing quandary.
There is no denying that Trump stump commentary generates a lot of traffic — I mean, just tremendous, quality clicks. But this incoherent gasbag has been blathering on for more than two months now, and there’s only so much one man can say about his shtick. Say that he brings out the ugly side of American politics? Done. Comment on his feuds with conservative media? Done. Observe that he’s not really a populist, not really? Done. Point out that his bare-bones policy statements make almost no sense whatsoever? Done and done.
There’s only so many ways that I can say that Trump reminds me of nothing so much as that old man at the deli talking to nobody in particular about how the country is going to hell and how it was better in the “Mad Men” days when you could properly insult minorities and play grab-ass with the secretaries.....

yes, its certainly “damning” that the only candidate whose slogan is “Make America Great Again” has a political rise.
I am sensing a common tone to today’s anti-Trump rants.
A sense that “Ok guys, this is getting serious, we cannot just dismiss him any more and expect he will go away...”

So a Tufts diploma means that your parents were so dumb they spent thousands of their hard earned (we are charitable there) dollars to send you to be indoctrinated by a bigoted gasbag such as Dresser? A more discerning parent would have had you working at Home Depot until you learned something about life.

Wrong question, stupid. The real question is why Trump resonates with so many voters. Screw the GOP bench. They no longer speak for conservatives...to the point where I can't tell the difference between a Republican and a Liberal Democrat. And until I see a change from the spineless whining that I hear from the "GOP bench", my purse is closed to them. They want some of my money? Find someone who has a pair of stones, is willing to advance conservative values on immigration, spending and taxes, and big gov't. Until then, sit down and shut up.

Meanwhile, the Democrat field of candidates consists of Hillary, an old white rich woman, Sanders, an old white socialist guy, and (maybe) Biden, an old white stupid guy.
That's a really diverse group of Democrats.
