Republican presidential candidate Sen. Lindsey Graham (SC) said in an interview with CNN on Tuesday that fellow candidate Donald Trump has tapped into the "dark side" of the GOP.
Graham was explaining how his rival has managed to dominate the Republican presidential race, polling as high as 35 percent depending on the survey. Graham said the support still represented a minority of the GOP.
“Twenty-five percent of our party that probably thinks Obama was born in Kenya or wants to believe that. There’s 25 percent of our party wants him to be a Muslim because they hate him so much," Graham said. "So, there’s a dark side of politics that Mr. Trump is appealing to."
Graham initially used the interview to defend his dismal poll numbers in his home state, South Carolina, but pivoted into a more specific attack on the GOP frontrunner. He said a Trump nomination would "kill" the GOP.
"The leader of our party has come up with a deportation plan that is Joseph McCarthy-like and he is saying things about Megyn Kelly and other women that are digging a big hole. And the chairman of our party said Trump was a net positive. Let me tell you, I think he's hurting our party."
He also said Trump's plan to get rid of birthright citizenship was constitutionally unsound.
"He's shallow. He's ill-prepared to be commander in chief," Graham said. "He doesn't know what he's talking about in terms of how our laws work. He says the worst things possible about immigrants and women. And he's a complete idiot about Mideast policy."
Trump's strategy to defeat the Islamic State terrorist group, he said, was worse than President Obama's, a strategy with which Graham has repeatedly voiced discontent.
Graham used some of his Southern charm to end the interview: "Come to South Carolina. I'll beat his brains out."

Sultan Hussein has made far too many slips of the tongue in the Moslem direction and too many explicit statements to not be Mohammedan. Some say he is a Communist, not a Moslem. The two ideologies are quite compatible and will ally in the same minds up to the point where they take control then the partisans for each will attack the other for final control. But that is no different from a purely Communist takeover when the factions go for each others’ throats until only one group stands. In Islam it is the same. Islam and Communism are but two groups with the same ideology i.e. total control of everything and rigid specification of what is permitted and what is prohibited and everything is one or the other with the Ayatollah or Sultan or the Secretary or Dear Leader essentially owning everything that is.
I must be the ‘dark side’ I believe O is a Muzzy. He attended a Madrassa in Indonesia. Think they let non Moosleems in? He is either a muslim or an apostate.
I don’t know if Obama is a practicing Muslim or not, but I’m sure he’s a dedicated leftist and one of the sacred causes of the left these days is promoting Muslim victories over western freedom and over the survival of western civilization. And Obama is dedicated to all that.
In a candid moment, the GOP calls us the “Dark Side” on the same day Obama calls us “Crazies”. So what do you plan to do with the “crazies” and “dark side” guys?

Personally, I don’t think Obama is a Muslim. Rather, it is most likely that he is an atheist with deep Muslim sympathies. It is also possible he is a closet Muslim, but I’d put that chance at 25%. I don’t believe for a minute that he is a Christian in the traditional sense...or really any sense.
I think he’ll probably come out of the closet when he publishes his post-Presidency memoirs.

Agree. Obama is a Malignant Narcissist, and as such sees himself as preimiminet. He could pay lip service to a Being greater than himself—a being commanding authority over Obama’s words and deeds— but the moment the Deity’s demands interfered with Obama’s whims, he would blaspheme as casually as he smokes a cigarette.
In short, nobody tells a Malignant Narcissist what to do. Therefore, ultimately, they are all atheists.

I’m fine with it...
Senator Graham is easily led astray on things like global warming/climate change and the Tea Party, a group of Americans who think government is too big and our Constitution used much too limited today...both make Mr. Graham on the “dark side” of a good American.
Did he just insult 35% of the GOP voters? Typical arrogance thinking he has sewn up that segment of the vote.
