Donald Trump Says He'll Spend 'What It Takes' To Win
The Huffington Post's Entertainment ^ | July 17, 2015 | Scott Conroy

LACONIA, N.H. -- How much is of his personal fortune is Donald Trump willing to drop on his 2016 presidential campaign? Whatever it takes to come out on top, he told The Huffington Post on Thursday.

“You saw my statement yesterday, so it’s pretty irrelevant,” Trump said, alluding to a press release in which his campaign placed his net worth in excess of $10 billion. “I’ll do what I have to do.”

Trump has already contributed at least $1.8 million of his own money to his nascent White House bid, which he launched last month, but that may be only the beginning.

Asked during a brief interview in the picturesque New Hampshire Lakes Region whether he might eventually spend up to $1 billion trying to win the presidency, Trump didn't dismiss the idea out of hand.

“It depends on what it takes,” he said.

Trump spoke during an interview at the small private airport here as he waited to call in to "The O’Reilly Factor" on The Fox News Channel after headlining an evening rally that drew several hundred people. He noted that he has risen to the top of most recent polls of Republican candidates and said he's gaining even more steam, as he feeds off his big crowds.

“I do see the enthusiasm,” he said. “I mean, forget it, right? The driver said, ‘I’ve never seen that before, and I’ve been in New Hampshire for 25 years.’ So it’s very nice to see the receptivity. People are tired of being ripped off.”(continued)

‘Trump said it’s “too early” for him to start thinking about a running mate, if he wins the nomination. But he did have particularly kind words for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), with whom he met privately in New York City on Wednesday.

“He asked for the meeting,” Trump said. “I didn’t know what it was about. And it was just a personal get-together, and we were together 45 minutes, and I think he’s a terrific guy.”

Trump added that he had particular respect for Cruz, since the Texas senator “came out very early” in his defense after Trump decried Mexican migrants as “rapists” during his announcement speech last month.

“The media covered it terribly incorrectly, and a lot of the media’s already apologized to me,” he said. “But Ted Cruz came out early, and I respect him for that.”’

Both the Hillary, and Jeb teams all just had to change their Depends! :)

I’ll bet you $5 that there are Trump/Cruz 2016 signs and posters already printed and sitting in a warehouse somewhere in New Jersey.

Chronology of what Trump detractors have said...
First they said Trump is not a serious candidate.
Then he filed the forms to officially run, making doubters look foolish.

Then they said Trump will drop out.
Many businesses cut ties with Trump to look PC.
Trump did not flinch, he actually doubled down.

Then they said Trump was a past donor to democrats.
Do those people know that all large businesses donate to both parties?
Do they know the total donations by Trump to democrats are less than
0.01% of his net worth? I would posit he is stingy with democrats
while doing 90% business in blue states.

Then they said Trump was in this race to help Hillary.
Then I heard him say on TV:
“Hillary is the worst SOS ever!”
“Hillary would make a terrible president”
"Hillary should spend more time producing her illegally hidden emails
and less time trying to obfuscate a statement by me
that is totally clear and obviously very much accepted by the public as true.
I am honored, however, that she is attacking me, instead of Jeb Bush.
Obviously she knows that JEB is no longer her real competition.
The last person she wants to face is Donald Trump."
Does above sound like Trump is in to help Hillary?

Then they said Trump will run on 3rd Party.
Trump has said on camera:
“My best chance to defeat the democrats is running
on the republican ticket, 3rd party is a bad idea”.

Then they said Trump will never file his financial statement.
He filed his official financial statement on Wednesday July 15, 2015.

Then they said Trump is not as rich as he says he is.
His official financial statement shows net worth of $10 Billion.
Trump is not stupid to risk perjury by filing false statement
Trump can buy many Perot's and have money left over.

Some have said Trump is for gun control.
Donald Trump: “I am a Life Member of the NRA
and am proud of their service in protecting our rights
to keep and bear arms. The NRA’s efforts to stop dangerous,
gun-banning legislation and regulation is invaluable.
The media focus on those efforts overshadows the great work the
NRA does on behalf of safety and conservation.

What will they say next? Trump can not run for president because of his hairdo?
Ignore the Trump haters who claim he wears a toupee. It is all his own hair.
That was verified on national TV.

Love what he’s saying thus far. But it is so early, and there is no doubt some very damaging dirt Jeb’s band of traitors has in their files. So it’s hard not to think Trump is just the Herman Cain of 2016, and he’ll likely be out by December.

Cruz should have stopped in to Trump's tailor...his jacket fit is embarrassing! Looks like he's wearing his Dad's suit jacket...

He’s been famous since he was a teenager. If there was any significant dirt on him, we’d have seen it by now.

Perfect. He’ll spend whatever it takes to win. That I believe. No one owns him, no one will beat him. About time we have a winner to back.

Oh, so many comebacks on this. Looks like Trump is humoring a boy scout. Very embarrassing. Surely Cruz can afford some clothes that fit him, else we need to wait for him to spend a few years to grow into them.

Whether or not they have “Republican” anywhere on them.

I would like to see him win, if for nothing else, than the massive, collective liberal stroke that follows.

I agree. Probably Cruz showed up sans a jacket, and may have borrowed Trump’s spare jacket for photo, without giving much thought.

Be that as it may. Tell you what: When you get to 1/3 of where Ted Cruz is in society, I’ll take your sartorial criticisms much more seriously. Deal? LOL
