LAS VEGAS, Nevada Real estate magnate and 2016 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump has skyrocketed to Republican frontrunner status, as a new poll from Reuters/Ipsos has Trump tied for first place with former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. The rest of the pack is far behind them.
Trump pulled in 15.8 percent, compared to Bushs 16.1 percent in the poll of 404 self-identified Republicans taken from July 6 to July 10. Since the polls credibility interval is 5.7 percent, that puts both Bush and Trump in a league of their own atop the field as the next best candidate, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who doesnt even break 10 percent.
Whats perhaps most interesting is that Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) has begun sinking heavily in the polls, as hes well behind most of the Republican candidateshes now in tenth place, well out of contentionclocking in at just 3.9 percent in this poll...

Overseas? Mexico?
The RNC mafia and their business associates think they are going to pull another Romney on us.
That won’t work out so well for them this time. I have voted for the republican candidate every time since Reagan. That won’t happen this time. If they give us Jeb or some clown like that, I will vote 3rd party or not at all for president.
The DNC?
Tagline ....
The always suspect Roooooters poll.
What exactly is a credibility interval? I’ve never heard that term before.
uh, yeah. walker is the guy leading in the polls despite the fact that he hasn’t even declared yet.
think that one through.
Nobody knows.
Rubberio earned his drop to irrelevancy when he schemed with Schumer against the citizens.
Gang activities are disqualifying.
Yeb Bush and NJFatBoy are popular with the checked pants Republicans.
Notice that they have a blocker from most of the critical states lined up, Graham for SC, Rubberio for FL, Kasich for OH, Pataki for NY, Santorum for PA, Gilmore for VA.
Favorite son candidates in the race solely to draw off votes. The lower Yeb Bush polled the more they recruited into the race. The RNC knows they are going to have a harder time nominating their designated loser this time.
Granted, polls are pretty meaningless but they do give fodder for discussion.
“I am curious where his alleged support is supposed to be coming from.”
Corporate America and the cheap labor lobby.
I dont believe Ive ever met someone stupid enough to tell me theyre supporting Bush.”
There are a whole lot of them in Texas and likely the same ones that voted for George P. as Land Commissioner. One of the major reasons I got out of the local Republican Women’s group.
And that's who is responding to these polls?
There are very few Jeb supporters here at FR— I cant believe he’s that high in the polls either.
The polls are strictly name recognition this far out.
“it will come down to your guy (cruz) and mine (walker).”
They are both fine men, but Trump will make mincemeat of both of them. Time for a non-politician. The U.S. needs jobs, and Trump is a businessman. The stars are aligned.
So that explains Trump at the top then. :-P
so says former president ross perot, who brought us president bill clinton, and rampant semen stains in the oval office.
K-Street. I’ve yet to met a Jeb supporter myself.
I feel like all of these polls are manufactured.
Marco will never be able to wash the stench of Schumer off.
