With the U.S. Supreme Court legalizing same-sex marriage, Gov. John Kasich said Sunday its time to move on and shift the Republican Partys focus away from gay marriage and instead solving problems here together.
In an appearance on CBSs Face The Nation, Kasich said he believes in traditional marriage between a man and a woman, but distanced himself from conservatives demanding a constitutional amendment to allow states to prohibit same-sex marriage.
I think there are so many other things now that we have to focus on, said Kasich, who is considering a run for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.
In particular, he cited job growth, defeating poverty, healing the division between races, coming with an immigration solution thats going to be fair and is going to help people; rebuilding our national defense.
Thats where the energy ought to be focused on the things that we know are vital to strengthen our country, Kasich said. My head is moving in the direction about we need to solve problems here together.(continued)

I agree with you and I also think an amendment is meaningless. If we have to pass an amendment every time the court violates the constitution, we will never keep up with them. And who really believes an amendment would stop them anyway. Twisting meanings is the livelihood and principle duty of court leftists and they would take each new amendment as a personal challenge to their ability to make it say what they want it to say.
If Congress is unwilling to impeach and remove justices who are so outrageously flagrant in their usurpation of powers, then the rule of law is over, America loses God's blessings and we have "gone over the edge." The politicians will continue their massive thievery, the country will go bankrupt and we will experience real poverty. For all the babies that have been murdered, it is probably a deserved ending.
Spineless
If the good guys win in 2016, the new president would be a fool if he didn’t appoint Levin as Attorney General, or to SCOTUS.
I thought Kasich was a supposed to be such a RELIGIOUS CHRISTIAN!!
Exactly.....there are 56 MILLION DEAD BABIES KILLED by their OWN MOTHERS........God has taken His Hand of Grace from our country, so Gay Everything is not surprising.....Polygamy, Incest and Beastiality Marriage next.
So he is aiming to be the next Bob Dole?
Taxman for the welfare state. He doesn’t seem to understand that his “friends across the aisle” only want his help “fixing things” to drag their game out as planned. He and Mr. Roberts need to find a different tune. That one is stale.
He just lost me. Sad he has changed as he got the budget balanced in 1997 or so. The Bible he talks about he needs to read. Stay in Ohio.
One thing’s certain: The threat to the USA is far more profound than same sex marriage. That’s a symptom.
Just another “Drive by” SCOTUS ruling.
FUJK
Vichy traitor.
