(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

CHRIS MATTHEWS, MSNBC: Apparently back then when Romney was thinking of putting [Chris Christie] on the ticket when he was running, when he was running, he discovered there were some problems, alright? Do you think he might use those problems against him next time?

DAVID CORN, MOTHER JONES: Well, that opposition book is rather thick. If Romney doesn't use it, somebody else will.

MATTHEWS: And therefore -- but I keep thinking Romney is going to be the nominee after all this is over.

CORN: No.

MATTHEWS: Look, I'm pretty good at this.

CORN: No. No... He's not going to run.

MATTHEWS: It's easy to do this, but I always shoot the moon. And I think in this case they're dying for a middle of the road centrist conservative. I think they want to win....

I won’t be voting for either one of them in the general election, if it comes to that. I’m still ashamed of my vote for McCain and ambivalent about casting a vote for Romney. I won’t go Rino loser a third time, I simply won’t do it.

On The Journal Editorial Report today on FNC, one of the panelists thought that Jeb was the only Republican who had the potential of beating Hillary.

Of course Jeb can't beat Hillary if he can't win the nomination, and I doubt he can. He is sort of like Ed Muskie in 1971. Looks good on paper but not likely to survive the primaries.

Hillary better get herself to a rehab center before she says so many stupid things that even the MSM can't cover it up.

I like the name Suicide Squad better, but I think it’s already taken.

Matthews: "... I think they're dying for a middle of the road centrist conservative ..."

Yes, Chris, that is what they are dying for. Something at once redundant and contradictory.

This guy was the 2012 republican nominee at age 47.

” ‘I’m not a partisan politician,’ he said. ‘My hope is that after this election, it will be the moderates of both parties who will control the Senate, not the Jesse Helmses.’ “” “”When Romney decided to run, Republicans exchanged quizzical looks: ‘We didn’t know a single Republican when we jumped in in December,’ his wife, Ann, says. As a registered independent, Romney had voted in the Democratic presidential primary in 1992 to support Paul E. Tsongas”

Sorry Chris but we’ll pick our own nominee. We know how you leftists operate. You praise the Republicans you know are beatable and have nothing but vile contempt for the ones you know will give you trouble. By that standard Ted Cruz or Scott Walker should be our nominee.

What in God’s Name does anybody see in Mitt Romney or Jeb Bush? They’re fossils. They’re criminals. They’re wedded to a system in dire need of repair, make that replacement. Any candidate who supports Common Core, amnesty, the existing welfare state, the Fed, or Obamacare is mentally retarded and needs to permanently incarcerated.

Not that it can't be done, but when was the last time a losing presidential candidate was the party's nominee four years later? (I'm asking.)

And Ross Perot doesn't count.
